Guest guest
Though I don't think this applies in 's situation, the post about birth control made an excellent point. Oral contraceptives are accepted as something very ordinary and harmless. Millions of women take them. But these seemingly innocuous little pills have numerous deleterious effects on people's health. Any drug that alters hormonal function (humans have many more hormones than most know of and these hormones are altered by many more drugs than people realize)creates hormonal imbalances that have profound effects on the functions of our bodies. Another fact rarely considered is that scientists admit that our knowledge of hormones is limited and the study of hormones and their effects is in its infancy. Scientists suspect we have more hormones they know nothing about (this includes neurotransmitters as some neurotransmitters are hormones). See the first link for a list of currently known human hormones. You can click on many of these hormone names to find out a little more about them. Note in particular that many of these hormones are amino acid-based. Then, click on the second link and read the first two paragraphs, paying particular attention to the last sentence in the second paragraph. 1) http://users.rcn.com/jkimball.ma.ultranet/BiologyPages/H/HormoneTable. html 2) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amino_acid Regards,
