Guest guest
Theresa - just a quick note - sometimes Benadryl - while it may help the itch - will keep you awake - I used to use it to sleep but - if I was awake too long after I took it- I was awake a LONG LONG TIME!! See if they can give her something else for the itching/allergic reaction - maybe Atarax? You hang in there girl - hugs hugs from deb in NE - and PS - Atarax makes you sleepy too... Update on My Mom Well I am not sure what to say, other than I'm a little scared. she is still have problems w/ the medication they are giving her benadril for the itching which is helping to a point but she hasn't slept in over 2 days now, she is walking great which is a great thing, but now they are worried about her lungs and have started breathing treatments. I know this sounds bad but I tried to talk out of it, cause of her health and I know she is in good hands they are taking good care and being there for her but I wish she would have just a peaceful night. My dad is exhausted he has been up there since day one he is a sweetheart and he hasn't slept at all either. I cry almost time get off the phone cause I hate to see my mom in so much pain she says she can hardly handle it. I get my strength from her cause she has always been a very tolerable person of pain but says this is nothing like she has had. And she has had her share of open surgeries. I don't know if it would have been different if she had went to Dr' OH but I so wish she had of. Thanks for listening and being there!! Guest guest
Thanks Deb. Dad says that it helps her relax and sleep a little. I know they also have her on adavan. They were finally going to try darvaset I haven't heard how it or worked if they were able to give it to her. After my last note about her, I found out that her kidneys started to shut down night before last, they had seven people in the room working on her trying to pump iv into her, and it has seemed to work, dad says they are pumping pretty good. They took her for x-rays and no leaks (THANK YOU GOD) and took out her ng tube from nose she very happy about that. My grandparents who aren't suppose to leave from ID until tomorrow along w/ aunt and uncle who aren't suppose to be going are leaving today. My dad broke down in tears on the phone w/ me, hearing my dad cry is awful, someone might as well rip my heart out, I feel the same way w/ my husband. My aunt and I have already decided SHE WILL NOT HAVE A TT. Nope nada zip, (lol) My mom is that 1 - if its one in a thousand she is that one, if it's a million she is that one. We knew this going in but didn't figure it would be to this extent. Even though I can't do anything for her I want to be there for her so badly and my dad, he needs a break. She keeps telling me I don't want this anymore, the pain is awful. I pray and hope that angels comforts her that she soon will see the blessings of the surgery and her decision. The gas is moving so that's a good thing, she is passing it and belching pretty good. Thanks for all the prayers and support! Guest guest
Hi Theresa H again; My sister had WLS 2 weeks after I did. She was saying the same things your mom is saying right now. Im sorry her pain management is less than good. Just keep thinking that every day she will get a little better. Thats how it goes for most of us. To get thru the first week is the hardest. Keep your chin up. We are thinking about you both. Hugs and Love, in Pa.

Guest guest
She is a lot stronger than I ever gave her credit for, one to have the surgery and two to deal with that much pain w/ out any pain medication. She is my hero that is for sure!!!!!! Theresa H *The most beautiful things in the world can not be seen or even touched.
