Jane Anne,

She also ate all the NADH and maybe the CoQ10 and I probably had at least 10 of the NADH in the pill case. The vet wasn't concerned about those since he said they were food supplements. The Baclofen is what did the damage. And, I didn't even mention that this whole episode cost close to $800.

The very same thing happened to me only it was my NADH. She did this 3 times and I thought I was so careful after the first time. I only turned my back to my dog and she was so fast to get to the table before I could get on the bed.

We had to call vet but was told only to watch her because he thought she would be ok. Thank goodness she is and now those pills goes in there box. She also eats plastic or any thing else she can get in her mouth so we close all bedroom door when she has run of the house.

DOGS AND BACLOFEN DON'T MIX

Hello Friends, I did an unbelievably irresponsible and dumb thing!! I left my weekly pill case on top of my night stand rather than returning it to the drawer. My morning routine is to reach in the drawer, take my pills, read the paper, have coffee, before starting my day. My thinking was I didn't want to forget the pill case since we were planning on going away for the weekend. BUT, I also thought that I shouldn't take the chance since my dogs had chewed up plastic in the past. BUT, I did it anyway. Craig and I both had doctor appointments, in and out of town, so we were gone for a few hours. When we returned home, our one dog was lying in the living room having very violent seizures. Craig had no idea what was going on with her, but I knew immediately. We rushed her to the vet and he was able to stop the seizures. I told him about the Baclofen and he contacted the manufacturer of Baclofen. He pumped her stomach, gave her charcoal to absorb what wasn't pumped out, gave her lots of fluid to flush everything through her system. She continued the seizures and he transferred her to the emergency vet clinic so she could be treated through the night. We then picked her up the next morning and returned her to our regular vet and he continued treatment. She weighs 28 pounds and I'm not sure how many Baclofen she ingested, but probably 3 or 4. (I only take 1/2 tablet twice a day.) The vet was concerned that she might have brain damage if she survived. Well, thank the doggie gods, she did survive and there is no apparent sign of brain damage. As upset and concerned as I was/am, I have two little grandsons who weigh about 30 pounds and they get into absolutely everything, and can open any drawer. It could have been one of them. We have as much childproofing as possible. Before they visit again, you can be sure that I will have a locked box to keep my pills in, even in the drawer. I'm sure none of you would be as irresponsible, but I felt I needed to pass this along as a safety reminder. Gentner
