Guest guest Posted April 7, 2000 Report Share Posted April 7, 2000 Dear Shamiso: To answer your question about ovulation: If you only have one tube you can and most of the time do (unless there is something else going on) ovulate each month. You do not always alternate sides...you could ovulate on one side three times in a row before you ovulate from the other. There has been some research that shows that when you ovulate from the side with no tube, the egg can float over and go down the opposite tube, but this is very rare and cannot be truly counted on in terms of fertility. It is definitely a good thing to be monitored and know when you are ovulating from the good side because your chances of getting pg are greatest in that month. I only have my left tube and was able to conceive naturally after 8 months of trying after my ep. There was no way we cold have ever afforded IVF or adoption, so we truly consider this baby a miracle from God and the greatest gift we have ever received.
