Ever try Pepsi One? That's pretty good for a diet soda. Also RC makes diet

soda with Splenda in it. I haven't had a regular soda in years. I used to

like Fresca but I can't find it anymore in the stores. There's also Crystal

Light to drink.

Another good soda is the Hansen's Naturals Diet line. They're also made with

Splenda, and have no sodium. They make ginger ale, blackberry, peach, kiwi

strawberry, mandarine orange and tangerine lime (yeah, I'm familiar with

it!). Here in the West they sell them at Trader Joe's.

Soda pop is my downfall. I try to stick to the diet sodas, but sometimes I go

back to the regulars. As for water, I do drink quite a bit at work, but water

seems to make me irritable for some reason. I also drink tea with fake sugar

(The new yellow pack, whatever that's called) and the Doctors say that coffee is

fine for my as long as no sugar (I don't like sweet coffee anyway) and only one

or two creamers (I tend to go approx. one creamer per 2oz of coffee - 12oz cup =

6 creamers, 20oz cup = 10 creamers :)

, perhaps the withdrawls from the caffiene is what makes

you irritable and not the water? I know every time I try to give up

my Diet Coke I become a monster, but I think it's the coming off the

caffiene & other chems.

On the TVP note, I keep seeing it at my local health food store. I

saw some that looked like chicken filets. Do you ever use that?

Please pass on any info on how to cook with it. I'm trying to sneak

in my hubby's diet without him knowing, lol.

Quite a few groceries and delis here in Seattle sell Hansen's. Although I don't

normally look at the specialty sodas, the Tangerine Lime sounds interesting.

I've noticed that sodium levels tend to be a bit high in some drinks. Ever

check the sodium content of plain old milk (even 1% and non-fat)?

I'm not going off of caffeine. Water just makes me irritable.

TVP, like tofu, is basically tasteless. They can be made into beef, chicken and

pork substitutes. I've seen all sizes up to cutlet and breasts.

Well since being diagnosed hubby only drinks caffeine free diet coke and

water. He has occasionally drank some juice. But not much and not often. He

has always been a juice lover and well they are just not as healthy as they

would like you to think they are in some aspects.

Every now and again when he has been out and it is cold. I will warm him a

glass of milk and put some sugar free chocolate mix in it. That we found at

Meijers...

But mostly he sticks to diet Coke and water though..

Have a great day and stay warm ! (Or at least try too anyhow)

Re: Beverages

Don't like Pepsi One. Fresca and Tab (really old standbys) are good. Also

Diet Cherry Coke, and Diet Vanilla Coke. I'm lucky in that I work in a store

and can special order from the vendors. Otherwise, Tab and Diet Cherry Coke are

really hard to find. Others, like Diet Dr Pepper aren't that great.

I still like hot tea with Splenda (I remembered the name! =)erages

Oh yeah.................I love that stuff! Lots of caffeine in it though but

I drink it early in the day, before 4PM. I don't have any problems with

caffeine as long as I drink it early so I can sleep at night.

If I want juice I water it down with either sparkling water or regular water.

I love cranberry juice, not Ocean Spray becaise they add a lot of sugar to

it but I drink Apple & Eve because there's no added sugar to it.
