HI there and what is your name ? I am TN and wanted to say hi and I

reward myself with new clothes or perfume or new pool toys and the one I

found most rewarding was to Buy new wallpaper and border for my bathroom . I

guess most of the time it is a nice bottle of perfume or the new outfit

I do occasionally get flowers ( I love fresh flowers .

I know we have guys here who could be angels but your angel does not have to

be a guy I was Jim's angel here !

Hi Bolivera - welcome to the group. I reward myself for reaching what I think

are important milestones in this journey. I had complications with my surgery

so once I fully recovered (it took 5 months) I treated myself to a new hairstyle

and color. Once I hit the 100 lbs lost mark I treated myself to a couple

outfits from of New York even though I knew I wouldn't be able to wear

them for very long. I'm 30 lbs from goal and once I reach that I'm treating

myself to a trip to the Houston Rodeo next February.

Thanks for the quick response. I am sorry that I did not give my

actual name. It is Boliver. Yahoo requires the " a " on the end to

show it as unique.

In Feb., when you come to Houston, let me know and maybe our families

can share a protien drink or a glass of water. I live just out of

Houston with my lovely wife and 4 kids.

I currently weigh 380 with a BMI of 52. I am waiting on the

insurance now.

For reaching my overall goal, I am planning a trip to Alaska. I do

not know about intermediate goals yet, maybe a fishing trip or

something.

Boliver - Rewards are a great idea! I always want to reward myself with getting

my hair done in a perm or something, but then I can't afford it. I need to

choose smaller, more attainable rewards. In the past, when doing well on a

diet, I'd reward myself with food, you know, I deserve this hot fudge sundae

because I've been so good all week kind of thing. Can't do that anymore!!! So

anybody else got any good ideas for rewards?

Jeanne,

You can reward yourself with something " expensive " by putting away

small change with each pound. Put $1, $2, $5 in a jar for every

pound lost or small goal reached and when you meet a bigger goal go

and spend it on something for you. Think about what you would be

able to buy after losing 100lbs! Yippee :)

I have started just putting away every $5 bill I get in my wallet.

It just disappears anyway so I might as well put it away :). I am

planning to spend it on a ticket home this December. In just a short

time I have saved $100!

Hi Boliver!

I love your name! I'd love to meet you and your family and share a protein

drink when I get to Houston. I'm planning on staying in Texas for a week or so

with my sister who lives in Lake . I figure chances are pretty good I'll

be up around Houston just about every day....

A trip to Alaska sounds like a terrific idea! Good luck with the insurance and

such. I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that you get quick approval...

Yeah, sorta. You only get shoes when you lose more wt.

Wait. That's a stupid rule. I am not losing any more.

Revised rule. You get shoes when you lose wt, or do not GAIN wt.

Hah. Much better rule.

I have never been one much for jewelry and when I went back to

Washington I went nuts in my ma's jewelry box. LOL I would hold up

something and she would say yes or no, well she has this ivory slider w/

matching bracelet she said NO WAY, I give her this stunned look, well I

went to dad. ( such a spoiled brat) LOL Dad says give it to her honey,

ma says no I'm not its my jewelry and I will not, I start pouting (its

all in good fun ~ I still want it ) But long story short I WANT MORE!

Welcome Bolivera, yes I reward myself. Besides buying clothes (no longer

from the specialty obese shops or catalogs), I have bought myself a

diamond bracelet. Don't get me wrong, not that I could afford it; it was

solely because after being so big for so long I couldn't fit into a

bracelet. So, when I lost 100 lbs, I bought myself a bracelet. My next

goal is being under 200 lbs and I'd like sapphires (don't know if I can

afford them, but maybe 1 at a time). When I reach my goal I'd like

pearls, but that's a ways down the road. If my husband reads this, I

don't want him to get to nervous my weight isn't dropping off too fast! (

ha ha!)

One of my treats is a manicure or pedicure. Not so much for the painted nails, as the massages. I have sore hands and feet, so the messages really make me feel good and make for a good reward.

Can anyone else come up with anything?
