I can't believe what I'm reading

I have been on this list since last fall and have never read such

non-supportive judgmental posts as we have been having the last few days.

Everyone's weight loss journey and road to better health is theirs alone. It

doesn't matter if they need to lose 5, 50 or 500 pounds. The amount of

weight loss needed or perceived to be needed does not automatically confer

superiority on anyone over someone else.

We are adults and if we choose to splurge, cheat, indulge, treat ourselves,

violate the plan, go hogwild or otherwise consume foods to avoid, that is

our choice. We know the consequences. I haven't seen many posts saying, " Oh,

I cheat - but why oh why can't I lose weight? "

As far as I am concerned, if I want tough love from online friends, I will

ask for it - as I have before. I would prefer that you don't give it to me

till I ask for it - but that's just me.

And FYI - for many, losing the last 5 pounds is MUCH harder than losing the

first 50.

I currently wear a 6. I'm trying to get to a 4. And I have just as much

right to whine, gripe and carry on as anyone on this list, unless the

moderator changes the entrance requirements.

I quote from the website for this group:

" This group is for people on phase 1 & 2 of SBD to get support, advice and

encouragement. Share recipes, thoughts, and goals. "

Can we all take a deep breath and think of ways we can help our online

friends with postive reinforcements instead of bickering?

Can’t we just drop this whole issue

of how much or how little someone has to lose? Or being mean to each other?

Also lets forget the doctor who constantly stirs things up – unless he

decided to join the SBD. I’m tired of all this fussing! I am

here for ideas on what to eat, support on how to eat better, etc. and

encouragement.

I'm trying to lose about 5 to 10 lbs and it just wont budge (the

scale moves 1 - 2 lbs back and forth and that's about it). It may

not seem like a lot to some people but it's enough that it would make

me feel more comfortable in my skin. I work out pretty regularly,

and I'm sure if I kicked it up a notch the scale would start moving

again. At this point, I eat enough and workout enough to maintain my

weight, and I know that. But it's so frustrating sometimes!

Hi! I’ve

been there done that with Atkins and WW. I think what happens the body

decided that you are in starvation mode and hangs onto everything you eat or

something like that. I’ve lost a few more lbs with SBD (was stalled

for months on Atkins and/or WW) and am hoping I don’t get into an

impossible stall again. I do workout – but hate to up it – as

I want to do stuff I will continue rest of my life. However, I may

have to up the walking again to get the last few lbs off and then see if I can

go back to my regular routine. Sure would hate to think I’d have to

stay on Phase 1 or 2 the rest of my life to keep from gaining weight. Ugh!
