My name is Debi Carey and I am interested in nutrition. I am fifty and

my interest is relatively recent. Arthritis, diabetes, heart disease

and the fatigue of modern life have left me angry at the medical

community for not helping us prevent these degenerative diseases. Now I

am searching for knowlege that our ancestors knew instictivly...and we

are just now coming to understand. What I don't understand is why

modern medicine is resistant to this knowlege...even threatened by it.

Is it really all just about money with them? Thanks for providing this

forum for learning and discussion.

Deanne, hello. Of course we have time to help you! :-)

If you look to the left on your screen, you will find a link to Autism

Mercury's files section. In the files there are several links to

Moria's site, which has detailed information on the chelation protocol

and agents used here, how to test for heavy metal intoxication, how to

interpret tests, etc. In the files section there is also a very useful

document on supplements, with the recommendations for supplementing for

chelation towards the end.

Chelation done improperly does carry significant risk of harm.

Chelation done using a proper protocol, with the right supporting

supplements, is relatively safe (though like anything, not risk free).

However most here would agree, I think, that if the child is carrying a

large burden of heavy metals, the greater risk is in leaving this

untreated. If you have been working as a nurse for a while, you may

have also had a lot of exposure to mercury, so you may want to consider

getting a hair test for yourself too (if you decide to test your

boys). A number of us have found out that high mercury levels are a

family thing, unfortunately.

Please feel free to ask lots of questions, and do lots of reading.

best wishes

Rene

Hello Deanne,

Welcome to the List ! I think you will find that the people on this list

are very helpful and have a lot of knowledge they share freely.

I don't know about your girlfriends DMSA experience, but I would be willing

to bet that she gave too much and too infrequently, that is a very common

theme for new people to the list. This will cause lots of bad results.

Have you read the FILES section ? Lots of good stuff there.

Considering that you what have heard about Chelation therapy was probably

from the medical community, I am surprised you are even willing to consider

it as an option ! Good for you for having a mind of your own and willing to

do your own research, especially if your friend had a bad experience. Your

children are in good hands !

I think if you start your research by reading up on Andy Cutler and the

low/slow chelation protocol you will find it makes sense rather than some of

the other not well thought out methods practiced.

I recommend that you start off with ordering the correct hair test thru

Direct Labs (From Doctors Data) and then post the results here or order

Andy's book(s) online.

Good Luck !

Neil

Hello to all! I am very happy to have stumbled upon this site. I am

the mother to two young boys on the autism spectrum. My oldest,

, is 4 years old. My baby is Caleb, and he is 22 months. I have

a neurotypical daughter Grace who is 6. I have heard so much about

chelation therapy...and mercury related to autism, but I just was

unsure if that was the case. I have been an ER nurse for ten years,

and have always believed in the medical establishment to 'do no harm.'

But more and more I see so many travesties occur in the health care

setting, and I want desperately to help my sons if I can. I have done

research, and am a bit confused about the various chelation products.

I have a girlfriend who started her son on oral DMSA and his

regression was immediate. I am cautious on what to do and where to

start. Pardon my ignorance...anyone have time to help me???

Thanks so much...

Deanne,

The best thing to do is to go into the Files section of this list and read for

awhile. Then come back with your questions.

I have a girlfriend who started her son on oral DMSA and his
regression was immediate.

*Find out what dose and dosing schedule she was using and if he had ANY mercury

amalgam dental fillings at the time. Many use much too high a dose and too

infrequent dosing which causes redistribution of the toxic mercury into the

brain. Andy Cutler's protocol is what most on this list use and find safe:

1/8-1/2mg/lb every 4 hours day and night for 3 days (and nights) on and at least

as many off. If she was using something other than this, it's not surprising

she saw regression. Some docs do a " challenge " which is a single high dose

which is also dangerous and almost guaranteed to cause regression.

I am cautious on what to do and where to
start. Pardon my ignorance...anyone have time to help me???
*As someone else mentioned, the FAQs of this list is a good place to start,

particularly the explanation of the counting rules. Andy Cutler has also

written two books, " Hair Test Interpreting " and " Amalgam Illness " . Other books

which may interest you include Kirby's " Evidence of Harm " and

Cave's " What Your Doctor May NOT Tell You About Childhood Vaccines " .

Thanks so much...
