Guest guest
Vicky - Sorry to hear of the recurrence of AFib symptoms. I had a focal ablation nearly three years ago for AFlutter. That has never returned. However, I still have AFib but at a lower level of symptoms. I don't know about frequency because I don't know if I have AFib unless I take my pulse. This hasn't ruined my lifestyle (I'm on my way to workout right now). I take only coumadin to control the clotting risk. Once again - this proves we are all different. The important thing I did through all of the diagnosis and treatment was to find doctors I trusted and I did exactly as they told me to do. Good to hear from you again. Wishing NSR for you in the future. Sharon in El Paso
Guest guest
Vicki, I am so sorry to hear of your recurrence of afib and hope that a third ablation will be the final answer for you, if you decide on that. It's good to hear from you again, but I'm sorry it is under these circumstances. I can understand in some measure how you must feel because I had a similar experience this past year. After about ten afibless months, I had a 68 hour episode last March. It was quite discouraging and depressing as my dreams of giving up medication (except Coumadin) vanished. I won't see my E.P. until July, but I have a strong presentiment that he will advise me against giving up the Atenolol or Verapamil. I have had no afib since the March episode, but it only takes one episode like that to shatter one's dreams of total escape from afib. However, I still think there is hope for both of us to keep that afib at bay and live our lives as we want to. I can't advise you on the ablation, but I do hope that you can find an answer, whether it be another ablation or continuing meds or both. I think that since you have experienced such great success already, it will be possible for you again. Let us know how you are doing. in sinus in Seattle
