A bit (2-3 weeks) after having Valium stopped abruptly(in '85), I developed

very severe migraine symptoms. Then proceeded to have a grand mal seizure in

a grocery store. After that whenever I had the visual aura to a migraine the

right side of my face, right arm and right leg would go numb and jerk as

described in the previous posts. (only arm and leg jerked-not face)

At times I would only get the jerking right leg, and always ended up with a

migraine afterwards. The nerve felt like it was really irritable before

jerking.

Since the seizure, I take Tegretol as an anticonvulsant, and imipramine at

bedtime, to help prevent migraines,etc.

I haven't had a classic migraine in nearly a year-nor face, arm or leg

involvement-numbness or jerking. (hormone change).

Even previous to this ('78-'80), when a nerve, distal to the entrapment of

the ulnar or median nerve, would feel really irritated and jerk. No more

after release.

There are many reasons for body parts to jerk. if this continues, a doctor

should be consulted on the reason it's happening.

I hope you find it's something of no real concern-(except it's irritating to

have happen.) And you'll be able to have something suggested to help the

situation should it continue.

I wouldn't disregard your experience though, as there may be an underlying

medical problem also, and I feel you should discuss it with your doctor.
