Guest guest
Wish I could help you, Ina. I just don't have any experience with this. Hang in there and know I'm thinking of you, ok? Love Mom
Guest guest
There was a lady here that grooms pets and got bitten or scratched by a cat and ended up with " Cat Fever " I think they call it. She ended up losing a finger over it. She was sick for a long time. Please make sure this isn't what you have.

With a better outcome but really hilarious ... When I was 20 I got married. The day after Thanksgiving. Then, for Christmas he gave me two adorable cats. We named them Liza and Lucy after Lucille Ball and Liza Minelli. Well, April 2, he left. Took the cats. Said he didn't want to be married. Wouldn't give me back the cats. Well, I stopped at his apartment to pick something up that he'd kept he shouldn't have. I discovered he had a boyfriend. That's why he'd left me. He'd decided that he really had been gay after all (a question he'd had before he met me but never shared with me). Well, a month before the divorce was granted his sister calls to tell me he was having emergency surgery. I went to the hospital to see him, and he'd had surgery on his testicles ...seems one of the cats scratched him when he was getting out of the shower because he'd splashed her, and well ... personally ... I thought that it was Karma. Pk
Guest guest
It sounds like the cat scratch may have carried something that you are reacting to, the antibiotics you are on for your other arm should help, but if not then it's worthwhile to see the doctor again. Perhaps what was on the cat was something that is not going to be covered well by the antibiotics that you are on. You might want to consider getting your cat declawed if this is a frequent issue for you. I know that the argument of declawing is a highly emotional and personal one, but if it keeps you safe, it may be worthwhile for your health. Guest guest
It is nice to know that sometimes the wrongs and unfairnesses in some of our lives get mysteriously " righted " , isn't it? Gotta love when that happens. Did you get the cats back? Just thought he might be less interested in keeping them after that happened. Must have made for an interesting trip to the ER and the surgeon. You cat did what, WHERE? Hee hee Joyce

Not sure if Belgium has the same laws, but I would expect so. When I get scratched, I give it a good wash and then put Germoline on it (a topical antiseptic). I usually cover it for the first 12 hours to stop it attracting cat hair and to avoid rubbing the Germoline off. I find that if I do this, it heals fine and there is no infection. Works great for cat bites, too. As I have three cats, all of them rescues, I am used to scratches and bites. If you are rehabilitating a traumatised, abused kitty (or two of them in my case), they often bite first and ask questions later. But I wouldn't be without them for the world. -- Fuller Owned and operated by fur kids Grace, Poppy and Flo Folding for the future with the Arthritis Warriors team.
