Metallic Taste was Re: Canned Wild Salmon - Brands/Metallic Taste

Well, it turns out it wasn't the salmon. The metallic taste was coming

10-15 minutes after consumption, not immediately. I got the same issue with

some homemade beef jerky yesterday. But chicken doesn't do it.

I think my Zinc - Potassium and Iron - Manganese ratios are off this week.

I'm working to correct them now. I was definately iron deficient (I had

more cycles than I was supposed to have) and judging by the heart issues,

potassium deficient (which happens to be a Manganese antagonist, and high

Manganese can cause the extra cycles). Makes sense since I've been

supplimenting Cal/Mag for a while and recently removed vast amounts of

Potatoes from my diet (in order to go SCD). I didn't realize they have

almost twice the Potassium per serving as Bananas!

Electrolyte issues are nothing new for me, I actually dealt with something

similar last year. It appears salicylate issues get worse in the winter

which increases bicarbonate dumping which decreases available electrolytes.

Last year, I wasn't SCD. I would just drink Blackstrap unsulphured Molasses

when I got the heart pain. Makes sense that the molasses fixed it, being

extremely high in iron and potassium.

Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know that it looks like it wasn't

actually the salmon!
