Guest guest
Hi. It's 3:30 a.m. (NY time), and I just woke up from a really bad dream - one of those vivid just like real life ones. Don't want to talk about the substance because I know I'll start crying...it was too real. Anyway, I'm pretty sure this is pre-hypo anxiety. Tomorrow is my last day on Synthroid - going for RAI to get rid of some uptake in my neck. I've been hypo before but its been about 11 years. I'm one of those people that everyone thinks is soooo strong, but the fact is that sometime during my life I got that label and I've been faking it ever since. I just want to say that right now I'm feeling a little scared - not sure of what but feeling frightened all the same. Thank you all for giving me a place where I can admit that - just putting it out there makes me feel a little better. - Gayle North Salem, NY TT 1990 > MD is the name of one of the major cancer centers in the US; > it is part of the University of Texas and is located in Houston. > http://www.mdanderson.org/ > > > > - katie > > trejolie10@... wrote: > > > Hi Who? Guest guest
Hi Gayle, I think I know just how you feel. In a couple of months I'll be seeing my new endocrinologist and if he recommends a scan and I need to stop thyroxine beforehand that will be my first experience of being hypo for the first time in nearly 20 years. Help! I haven't got as far as dreaming about it but I am admittedly obsessing a bit. Hang in there, and don't forget the walking! Guest guest
Hi all! When I went through my scan, 1 year after RAI, I was given the choice to go hypo or take 2 shots, 1 in each hip and scan the day after the shots. I was told the shots are around$1000 each so not all medical groups approve them, but you might check into it. I didn't have to go through hypo hell and didn't miss a beat. I see my new Endo in two weeks. I'll ask her what the shots were and what they do then. Good luck! Debbie Re: 3:30 AM - Bad Dream Hi Gayle, I think I know just how you feel. Guest guest
I'm just beginning this journey of tyca. Aim awaiting my 1st RAI see the doc. on Monday to find out when. I'm sorry your having to do this again after 11 yrs but I'm glad to talk to someone who isn't exactly fresh in this ordeal. I'm 37 yrs old with 2 children and this wasn't in the plan, you know what I mean? I'm very afraid about my future and how long it will be even though through these postings I'm told a very long life span but then again I read about all the problems people having, very depressing. I am going into my 4th week of hypo, not real fun but I'm managing o.k just do things alittle slower and some things not sure why I did them (BRAIN FOG). So for 11yrs you've been clean? How often are you checked? Sorry for all the questions but trying to see what I'm in for. RENEE 3:30 AM - Bad Dream Hi.
