At first say first 6 weeks I only went once a week and you have to consider

how little you are taking in so you may not need to go more than two x a

week

Ask your doc for a prescription for laculose (a liquid laxative), drink, drink,

drink and move, move, move. I had the same problem and it does go away. I do

take stool softeners every night and morning (a small gel cap of the generic

kind) still, and am trying to get in as much protein as I need so that one meal

can be a vegetable one and one or two snacks can be fruit. I also was told to

drink or eat prune juice or stewed prunes, or to add bran to my shakes. I was

SOO uncomfortable and the feces was so large and hard that I thought I was going

to have to go to the emergency room. Everyone told me that it would get better

and it has, with lots of water, exercise (walking) and better food choices, plus

the stool softeners. Good luck!!

Micki,

I can relate..... I am upping my water, walking lots, making pretty good food

choices. But my problem I think is from the pain meds for my back and fibro

which is pretty bad at the moment. I have not taken any pain med in 48 hours

because of this, and could just cry right now with pain. I will go get some

stool softeners today..... thanks all.

Hugs, julie

Hi ;

I took two Ex Lax tablets once in a while. I had to take 2 one day

and two the next the first time cause I had the same problem as

Mike. If anyone knows of a reason that we should not take Ex

Lax pills please let us know here OK. Thanks.

Hope everything comes out OK! LOL I know that was gross.

- Milk of Magnesia is what I was told was best to take. I haven't had

that problem yet. Good luck with getting things moving.
