Zyprexa withdrawl?

Hi. I'm new to this group. I have been on Zoloft (50mg) since 1999. Last year

when I became

pregnant, I completely went downhill and was very depressed. After a few months

of hell, my

doctor prescribed 2.5 mg of Zyprexa along with my antidepressent. Now he wants

me off of

the Zyprexa. I am now taking 150 mg of Zoloft and have tried to drop the Zyprexa

3 times.

My doctor has not said anything about potential withdrawl affects. Everytime I

quit, I have

severe anxiety and trouble sleeping. This last time my doctor has prescribed

Ativan (didn't

work) and then BuSpar (I haven't taken it yet. I'm leary of starting another

drug). I am on week

2 of my 3rd time of quitting Zyprexa. I want to be able to kick this, but have a

real hard time

in the mornings with anxiety, sadness, and not being able to fall back asleep.

Is this

common? How long does it last?

Thanks

Hi ,

Welcome!

This is all typical of withdrawal, you need to slowly reduce one drug

at a time (just 5-10% reductions)

Have a read through the files, read the diet information and

supplements and also Stimulation and Nervous System Overload.

If you have any questions, just yell

You won't have to put up with how you are feeling now forever, but

you do need to withdraw slowly from these drugs.

THinking of you
