Guest guest
*laugh* This should help people want to avoid McDs! I agree, though. The entire restaurant seems like it is covered in a thin layer of grease. ugh. Whenever I have a slight craving for anything fast food... I imagine a glob of shortening or lard. Knowing that is how greasy the food is, makes me lose my appetite for it. The image works! I know McD's is trying to be healthier with salads and stuff. Valiant effort! But, for people on South Beach, it should be avoided because transfats are everywhere. Guest guest
keep nuts and fruits and sliced veggies in baggies in the fridge. Grab em and go. THAT is my kind of fast food. Guest guest
My favorite " on the run " breakfast is (Phase 2) - Subway - ask them to put their egg and ham breakfast on a wrap (make sure they warm the wrap first!). Phase 1 just get them to put it in a bowl. I get tomatoes and lettuce on mine. No, it's not on the menu but I've ordered this several places and had no problems. Subway microwaves their egg dishes. > I would say 'no' to the Egg McMuffin. It is cooked in partially hydrogenated oil (I looked at the Mc's website) Plus, it is 12g fat, 5g saturated fat. > Sorry about that! For 'breakfast on the run'... try keeping baggies of items in the frig/pantry that you can grab and run with. Fast food, in general, should be avoided. > > > Re: not so good > > > one more McD's product. Guest guest
ok then.. I guess I will just keep driving right past micky d's.... oh well.. Any fast food suggestions? Guest guest
Yes, I think so. Since I have to start thinking like this for the occasional " Oh damn, I forgot my lunch today " days. Subway (no, not the Atkins wraps) salads. They can make any of the subs you like into a sanwhich. I imagine a turkey sub turned into a salad would be ok. Load up on the veggies and eat half(take the rest home). I remember the salads being huge. I'm going to tell you about a woman and her daughter I met about twenty years ago. I was a manager in NY for Dominos Pizza. My store was close to SI Hospital. A woman came in every Friday night with her daughter. As the weeks went by I noticed she was shrinking....literally. She was on some medically monitored weightloss shake thingy..Maybe Medifast....Anyway, she knew she had a penchant for eating pizza....and once a week by golly she was going to eat it. Not getting her pizza you see would probably send her into a binge. I KNOW that if I hadn't the ever lingering.... " JUST FOURTEEN DAYS " mantra in my head I would have given in to temptation. What's stopping me after today.....the fact that I DID it, and I saw a result. I will stumble...I know it, we all do....Maybe I will have a slice once a week.....maybe I will eat a cookie once a week....Maybe I will take Sundays off.... I may not do any of these things as I feel really happy right now...and accomplished. I'm rambling....but really guys, thanks for this board. If any of you have a friend who is battling weight and is on a plan...any plan...suggest to them they join a group....Doing it alone is hard...support and war stories let us each know that we are not alone. Guest guest
I sometimes get a Chicken Whopper and side salad at Burger King and throw away the bun, it's pretty good and legal as far as I can tell since we can have full fat mayo. > ok then..
