Guest guest
Many people get involved with psychiatric medications not because they are mentally ill but because of lifestyle choices and long term stress or poor decisions. Many of the patients I have seen over the years are exquisitely sensitive by genetics and have never been taught how to care for this type of nervous system - which often extends to the digestive system and other biologic processes. I am saddened that I see so many that are prescribed powerful mind altering chemicals that we still have no idea exactly how they work or the long term outcomes when many people simply need education, support and love. Groups like this are a godsend. As part of recovery I strongly suggest you look at you lifestyle issues and seek a better understanding or what it requires for you to function best. This may require a therapist or coach -and yes I know it is hard to find ones who understand and are truely helpful. Dr. R
