Guest guest
Hello All- Here is the latest on our beloved newbie Jackie. She came out of surgery after 4 hours. She had open WLS and they removed her galbladder(spelling?). They also took a liver biopsy but thank the Lord she came thru the surgery very well. So well that she had no need for ICU, respirator, oxygen....none of it!!! I am thrilled as all of you lovely people who are PRAYING FOR HER MUST BE. She was in recovery for about an hour and then was sent to room 361 at JFK hospital in Atlantis, Florida. If anyone is interested in calling her, they plan to have her up and about tomorrow. Today on a scale of 1-10 her friends said she was at level 5 with pain. I called them and said today she should be knocked out and they should tell the nurses. The # to call is: room 361. Here is a tip...if you dial 1010636 and 1 and area code and # the call will cost you 4.2 cents per minute and it's a nice way to say hello. Her name at the hospital is Jacqualine Leccia. Tomorrow is my shift and I am reporting for duty around 10am. I am breaking for lunch with another WLS patient of Dr. Marema's that has been my computer friend for a year and lives in my geographic location but for one reason or another we have never met.....now...Jackie is the catalyst. God certainly works in funny ways. Then I will be there till around 4pm. Depends how tired I am. Remember I am not well myself and have a week immune system; hospitals and I don't work well together. But, I am being positive about this entire experience. Her best friend Lynn just called to say the pain level is better, she sat up and cracked a joke or two and went back to sleep. The dr. counts today as day 0 and tomorrow is day #1. He intends on keeping her 5 days. Sure is different from my lap. I was in and out in 3 days. So, those prayers are working; continue please. Many thanks from Jackie, her Angel and her team. Joycie Joyce Blavat " People do not make a change until the pain of remaining the same is greater than the pain of change.
