Just a few comments. Unfortunately cheese is one of the few things that should be measured...low fat cheese is about 4 oz/day(people have noticed weight stalls with more) even though there is no definite limit to cheese, be careful.

Salad dressing can be 3gms or less (not less than 3gms)however i just checked the SBD site and it says less than 3gms...another list I am on states that 3gms are fine.- Ranch is usually just fine as is Caeser. There are many updates to this diet that are not in the book and can be found for "free" on the SouthBeach Diet site

Subject: Nervous and a few questionsThis is hard for me - already. I am so use to countingsomething - points, carbs, calories - you name it. Igot up this morning and had breakfast - 1% cottage cheese2 slices of turkey baconGreen Tea with Lemon (the Lemon is in the tea bag)The fact that the cottage cheese did not hit ameasuring cup first is awkward to me - lol. I am souse to measuring everything. Did anyone have a hardtime getting past this? Also, I have seen on these lists people post thatsalad dressing should have less than 3 grams of sugarper serving. Where in the book does it say that? Iplan on having a salad this afternoon and would loveto have REAL Ranch dressing.

I know it is tough... but, try not to focus too much on portion sizes. As long as you are eating foods that are approved, just eat until satisfied (not stuff, but satisfied) Try to eat slowly, so you'll have a chance for your brain to realize your stomach is full.

It is such freedom from portions! Now, if you find your weight loss is stalling, or you are gaining, then you might want to pay closer attention. I have lost 40 pounds so far, and the only thing I measure is natural peanut butter.

As for the salad dressing.. my friend has my book, so I can't look it up. I might have learned it through an email list or something. But, yes, must be 3g of sugar or less. I would stay away from salad dressings with TONS of fat (like 20g or so) I also choose to eat real Ranch (1g sugar) I don't drown my salad with it, but have enough to taste SO GOOD.

Good luck to you!

You will find a lot of items that are not in the book. Reading the

book gives you the theory of SB, why & how it works. Your best bet

when unclear abt something is to ask or use a search engine, chances

are your questions have been asked before, your not alone! Im in my

7th week and still have questions from time to time.

I only counted three questions. ;)

If it makes you feel better, go ahead and measure and count. Just don't

think that the measuring and counting are critical to the diet because for

the most part it isn't; nuts and sweet calories are the excetions to the

" don't count " part.
