Please pass on my hugs to Jill --hope she's okay.

also lotsa hugs to everybody on CEDA --I'm driving to Viroqua *by myself*

tomorrow morning.

This may not sound like such a big deal to those of you who've been driving

for a long time. But I just learned to drive a few years ago, and have only

driven my 18-year-old car in the city. I have never in my life driven at

highway speeds, never gone on a long trip by myself, on my own time. This is

my first " road trip " and it's 5½ hours to where I'm going! Eek! I've had

the car checked out, replaced the front brakes, I've been feverishly

checking the weather reports (looks like the snow is going to be rain

instead, thank goodness). I've been typing up the directions in really

HEEE-UGE print, getting ready for this momentous adventure.

Then to top it off, I got a phone call from my landlord offering to replace

the kitchen floor while I'm out of town. I gotta admit that's the most

practical way to do it, but I hadn't counted on having to pack up my kitchen

tonight. Aarrrggh!

So wish me luck!

The next time I talk with you, I'll be a new woman,

with a new kind of hyper- " mobility " --heehhee.

love to y'all

Louise

To Everyone,

Just to let everyone know, Jill is in hospital to receive antibiotics to

treat an infection to some sites from some recent bloodwork. She should be

home shortly with homecare and will continue to receive treatment at home.

Otherwise she is well.

Beth

Jill is on strong intravenous antibiotics to work against this

infection which started after two IV's were started to put a shoulder back

in joint. There are actually two sites, one in her upper inside of her arm

and one further down halfway between her wrist and had elbow. The swelling

makes it difficult to tell them apart and the plan for tomorrow may be

reopen the arm up and let everything drain. Jill doesn't want that, as it

would be a big cut, but if it helps, it has to be done. She is resistant to

going to the hospital but this morning the swelling now included her wrist,

which is a new development.

Her shoulder on the other side is giving her the most trouble and she can

not move it. The doctor says that it is only being help together by her

skin! Jill insists she knows better, but so far, no one has touched it or

looked at it. She has had so much work done in there, doctors seem to be

afraid to touch it.

I will let you know of any new developments or Beth will, she is Jill's good

friend and close to our family.

Re: Jill

Jill,

Prayers go out for you. What a horrible time of the year to be sick! Hang

in there.
