Yep! At our facility, we have 3 size cuffs. Something like for a child

because so many patients are thin and have very skinny childlike arms. Then

the midsize, then the big one. All three are kept with our digital BP

machines all the time, so that we don't have to go run and hunt for another

size.

Kathy

Here is one link to a study showing the connection between HBP and

hypothyroidism. You can go in and copy it. I figured he might pay more

attention to a doctors' study. The stiffness of the aorta in chronic hypos

is probably the key to this, plus our unusually high blood cholesterols,

especially if we've been this way for a pretty long time. Best of luck to

you.

Hi Kathy,

I used to be on water pills in the '70's and found that if I didn't take potassium (???) I would pass out so went to the drug store and the phamasist investigated and found that vitamin B6 is a natural thing that really does the job. It isn't as dramtic or drastic but then there are no side effects. As to the arthritis I stopped taking the RX from the doc as I found that I had lots of nose bleeds and now with Vioxx being removed I am glad I stopped. I now take calcium/magnesium with glucosamine sulfate, found that it worked better than the RX as when on that it was getting to the point it wasn't working. Not pain free all the time but much better results and no nose bleeds. Hope this helps as natural sure beats something that could be recalled at any moment because it is dangerous. Good luck, Dawn

He's neverautomatically blamed anything on my weight like a lotof docs do, and normally he listens to me, although hedid ignore me the first time I asked him to includethe free T3's in my bloodwork. At my weight, findinga doc that will listen and not just hand me thecurrent diet sheet is not easy, so I'll stick with himunless he really makes me upset for some reason.*****> About you blood pressure... just a comment.. weekend at work where I can print them on a laserprinter and my boyfriend and I both will be learningthe massage techniques. *whew* That wasn't easy totype. :o) Anyway, I've been watching my sodium intakefor the most part because of the unusual fluidretention. It seems my new arthritis med can causethe fluid retention. I'm hoping with the switch toArmour I can decrease or stop the meds for arthritisand triglycerides I'm currently on as well as theallergy med that I take prn. He says my heart soundsreally good, but if the BP doesn't lower with the med,he may put me on a fluid pill. I really wouldn't mindhaving one to take as I need it, but don't usuallyneed one until now. Ok, according to my Mom's wrist BP monitor, my BP is124/67 with a pulse of 72. I think she's got a fullsized one around here somewhere that may fit me alittle better. This one is accurate for her, but

mywrist is borderline too big for it according to theinstruction booklet, and that could give a falsereading. I think the next time I go see my doc on the18th I'll get someone else to take my BP if it's thesame nurse. I was almost expecting him to give mesomething right there in the office for my BP becauseI've never seen it that high before. I guess heprobably see's it much higher than that though. Iknow we've had some patients come in with it beinglike 240/145 and the staff just about has a heartattack getting the doc to send the patient to thehospital ER. As a psych facility, we aren't equippedto handle that sort of thing.*****> I know that we're not all the same, and how our> bodies react to all of> this is VERY individual... but sharing experiences> and thoughts could> lead to answers.... on that note, I've shared my> experience.>
