Guest guest
I had corpus luteum cysts for years and years mostly on my right ovary...plus large fibroids and I still conceived my son at age 38...even though I was using 2 forms of birth control...lol..so if I were you I would forgo the birth control pills...and go with the acupuncture....it's far healthier anyway... Best to you! ) darringirl wrote: Hi All- I know I haven't posted much recently, but I read the messages every day and enjoy being part of this group tremendously. I felt pretty good for about three weeks (a month ago) and then slowly started feeling bad again. I took a saliva adrenal test and it showed I have low adrenal function in the morning, but the rest of the day I'm ok. I ordered some adrenal support and should be getting it soon. The tests also showed low blood sugar levels before and after eating, but my blood test show normal fasting glucose levels. Anyhoo, here's what I'm really writing about - I had my well woman exams and have had ovary pains for a few years right before my periods. Had ultrasounds 2 years ago that showed ovary cysts that shrunk after two months. But went for another ultrasound recently. Now both ovaries have doubled in size. My right shows several cysts, and my left has a big cyst, and they deteced a uterine fibroid. (on the phone my gyno. just told me I had a simple cyst on both sides and she would not fax me the record, but I've learned to get my records from the lab which revealed much more - another aggravation altogether that I won't get into now). My gyno wants me to take birth control pills for three months to see if they shrink the cysts. After looking around at articles on the net I learned that the new low hormone birth control pills do nothing to shrink the cysts. And now I am wondering if it's even worth doing it. I really want to have another baby and I am almost 41. The gyno told me if I didn't try this I almost certainly wouldn't conceive. The pharmacist told me the birth control pills may interfere with my Armour and I hate to take that chance becasue my free T3 level was pretty low last lab test (although in range). I have hashimoto's and my TSH was around 1, but I think that doesn't matter. I really only care about the free T3 reading. The doctors are largely only concerned about TSH, but they don't have to live in my body, so they don't know alot in my mind. I am asking for your all your opinions on this. Should I take the birth control pills for a few months? Do you think it will help? I am looking into acupuncture as an addition or alternative. I will call my primary about the birth control/TSH issue as well. Thank you in advance for any advice. darringirl (Darrin)
