Boston A-Fib Symposium

Dear Marcelle and Everyone,

Is there anything you'd like me to ask at the Boston A-Fib Symposium

this month?

The fire in Malibu came within 400 yards of our home. Then the winds

shifted away from us! California is blessed with really great and well

organized fire fighters. They stayed at our house all night. I've

cleared out all the brush and Eucalyptus trees within 250 yards, but I

still have to put in a water storage tank. Living in malibu isn't

always as great as it sounds.

Steve,

I'll be out of town during the Boston meeting. But!

There are many A Fibbers who are on the fence who want the PVA procedure but

are apprehensive for many reasons. One of the most common is that the

procedure has not advanced to a point that they feel safe and the success

rates aren't asured and touch up PVA's are neccessary in many cases.

Do the EP's think they will be able to answer any of these concerns, to the

point that fence sitters will get the PVA.

Thanks

Rich O

I was in Buffalo and the Finger Lake Region (Canandaigua) over the holidays.

Christmas we had 30 " of snow. It was great!!! (My wife's sisters live out

there)

Hi steve,

thanks for asking! I'd like to know wht the chances are for

permanent chronic afib cure with this new procedure from the French

Drs in Bordeaux. I'm seriously thinking that that is where I'd go IF

i decide on a 2nd trial. or maybe Cleveland clinic Dr Natale. Or,

like many people are saying just wait until the procedure is

perfected!. Also if you hear anything about trying a cardioversion

after a failed PVA---how successful is THAT? 5 months later! I'd love

to know this because this is what My ep is suggesting! please try to

find that out if you can & report back as soon as you get home! sure

hope these Drs have something new up their sleeve for all of us!

thanks again! Wish i could go! Marcelle in FL

Dear Geri,

It's January 17-18 at the Seaport Hotel and Conference Center, World

Trade Center, Boston, MA. Almost all the major world researchers and

doctors in A-Fib will be there. The contact person is Muriel Corcoran,

. The Web site is http://www.afsymposium.com. Let me know if

you need any further info.

Dear Marcelle,

I'll make sure I buttonhole Dr. Jais and ask him about curing

chronic A-Fib. I'll try to ask about Cardioversions also.

Dear Marcelle,

That's my main interest also. I'm going to take a tape recorder and

see if I can tape it instead of just relying on notes.

I had my ablation last Sept and went right a way back to afib and

have stayed there ever since. I had been in afib constant since May

1st---had it done in FL, and was not very happy with the whole way in

which it was done. would surely look elsewhere , and not repeat with

same Dr/ same hospital.I sure don't want to go multiple times,

especially with the terrible experience I had,so I sure would like

the next time to be the last time---I may have to wait until I hear

really high percentages of success with persistent/chronic afib.
