Guest guest
((((((((((((((((((((Becca))))))))))))))))))))))))) Welcome, Welcome! I am Feisty, one half of the thyromusketeers and co-owner of this group. You certainly do have the symptoms of hypo now!I wonder if you are one of those that has/had both Graves and Hashimoto's. Have you thought about being on Armour? Do you have recent blood tests. If so, please post here and we may be able to help you interpret .We are here to help you and all of us to regain " ourselves " to rise as the phoenix from the ashes of thyroid disease. This is a support group, feel free to ask questions, share your ups and downs, etc. Topper(ThyroGeek/),the other half of the thyromusketeers and also group co-owner, is more conversant with Graves and RAI. We have others too that will more than likely jump in..... Again, welcome ThyroFeisty(Feisty) www.thyrophoenix.com I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals. Guest guest
Hi Becca... welcome... I'll start off with an invitation... if you're in a REALLY bad way and feel like screaming and venting... and want to give me a holler instead of the group... go for it... topper2@... We all vent and rage here, on occasion, that's part of being a support group.. part of being a family... but I'm thinking that if you get too riled maybe you and I get grab some baseball bats and beat the devil for a while..... Do you have copies of your lab's, with ranges? I'd really like to see how things are going... I do have a suggestion... talk to your doc about going on Natural thyroid... if you've had your gland nuked (RAI) as I have (it's been about 15 years now, I was in Thyroid Storm).. it's really important to get the full range of hormones... Those of us with no gland production at all are totally dependant on what we are taking... and the synthetic T4s really don't offer the range of hormones or the potency consistency that we really need. What dose(s) were you on before the first RAI and the second? We you on synthetics during that time as well? We have learned that after autoimmune thyroid issues, like Hashi's and Grave's that it's really important to provide an adequate dose of replacement hormone to avoid complications with the antibodies... I don't know how much you've researched that so far... so I'll just stop with that... Again... not knowing what you've learned/tried yet... I'll run through a few things... Are you avoiding unfermented soy products and other goitrogens? Are you getting good nutrition... good protein, complex carbs, fiber and reducing sugars and such? Do you eat at least three (better 5 or 6) times a day to help to keep your conversion rate up? What supplements do you take to help your body? Are you avoiding caffeine and other stimulants to reduce their side affects? How are you adrenals, ever been tested? How is your sleep? I'm glad you're here.... Let's see if we can help you to feel better.
