Guest guest
I've been having some amount of success using progesterone cream... will be starting my 4th round of it tomorrow. I also have thyroid disease and I'm wondering if as my thyroid becomes more optimally treated with Armour, will I need less progesterone? Will that help my estrogen dominance at all? Or are these separate issues. Sisemore
Guest guest
Hypothyroidism seems to cause estrogen to go high in most people. It causes increased inflammation, and many changes in the body that require more estrogen to be made to help protect the cells of the damage that is happening to them. Also, hypothyroidism alters the menstrual cycle causing longer estrogen cycles and shorter progesterone cycles. So, getting thyroid optimized should correct it. There is lots of evidence from patients that get thyroid replacement during menopause, that ssuddenly have their terrible menopauses go away. Getting thyroid optiminzed should also increase progesterone production to normal or close to it. I cannot use estrogen or progesterone anymore since going on thyroid. They both bother me. My doctor at the time tried to put me on estradiol because it was low even though my estrone was off the charts. I did try it about twice, thinking to see if it was a great as he made it out. Both times, my immune system seemed to go down and I got sick along with not feeling right. With progesterone, I feel really terrible and won't sleep worth a darn.
