Yes and the plant where it is manufactured is just along the road to me!! I know that many people there have lost their jobs - along with a friends hubby who says he just can't make sense out of it and that something does not add up?But I say again mercury is bad for anyone - especially if you already have a problem with your immune system?Carole

The only other company is in England, and they were shut down for some sort

of contamination problem. I agree.... if they are really as important as

we're lead to believe, then more companies should be making them.

I have a friend who works at the CDC in Atlanta, GA

and she says what they do is try to speculate what

varieties are due to come up and design the vaccine to

cover the two most promising speculations. Sometimes

they are wrong. I work in a hospital and we usually

get our 'flu shots for free, but I don't know if we

will this year or not. The ladies in the Medical

Clinic/Employee Health aren't saying if we will get

vaccine at all or not. They just don't know. The one

year I didn't get a shot, I got sick. If our hospital

does get some vaccine, I don't know if I will be able

to get the shot since I'm not a nursing employee.

Whether it's live or dead.. the only times I've gotten the flu since about 1980 have been the two times my dad got flu shots and didn't tell me.....

We are not touchy feely hugger types... and I rarely leave the house... so the only way to have picked up the flu was through transfer from him to a surface to me.

I've reminded him to let me know when/if he's able to get one this year.... So that I can hibernate... I BADLY need this vacation (when they all leave for Vegas, I don't want to spend my time sick in bed with the flu! hehehehehe)

.... I have mischief to find and get in to!!! hehehehehe

Ok folks, the information that says the 'flu vaccinecontains live virus is not true anymore. It used tobe true many years ago, but the killed virus alsocauses your body to build up a resistance with a lotless risk. The killed virus can cause a much moremild case of 'flu, but that's not the norm. Now asfor suddenly finding that the Canadian manufacturershave an acceptable vaccine, that would not suprise mein the least and I certainly think they should, at thevery least, make an exception this year with theshortage we've got. I work in a hospital, a mentalhospital, but still a large concentration of folksliving together where sickness can be passed aroundlike wildfire. I live with my 83 year old mother whocertainly doesn't need to be exposed and a 50 year olddiabetic sister who is coughing her fool head offright now and not covering her mouth most of the time.*gag* Mom and I will probably get whatever shebrought home and none of us need a good case of 'fluon top of that.=====Kathy >^,,^<

If the manufacture of the vaccine is down to just one facility right now.. would that not mean that all the vaccine would be contaminated????

Not picking a fight... just wondering.....

The flu shot no longer contains a live virus that was reported in one of our papres the other day. It was encouraging people to take up the jab. It does however contain mecury - which is a toxic poison and really should be avoided by those who are vunerable. I would ask for a shot without mercury.Carole
