I am wondering how the rest of you feel about this...

do you ever get tired of having to think about it

all the time? what

pills to take at what time, what foods to eat

when, am I eating the

right foods, am I drinking enough water?

.....sigh....

I know that I am completely obsessed all the time

about what I eat, the carbs, the portions, everything. I had gotten good at

losing weight when I needed to, but I think I played that one out too many

times and what my thyroid didn’t do to my metabolism, I’m sure my

yo-yo dieting did instead. It is so frustrating esp since what worked before,

doesn’t work now. Coming up on 40 doesn’t help either, I’m sure.

It doesn’t help that my husband wears a 32 inch waist, eats whatever he

wants, and loses weight walking the dog and drinking a glass of water.

I’m also interested in hearing what others are

thinking/doing about this since it sounds like it’s a common thing.

Hello Friends

several months ago a friend pointed out to me that

I had become

extremely obsessed with what I was eating...she

was correct, its

taken me some time to relax, I know what I need to

eat, what a

healthy diet is...I try very hard to allow myself

to eat normally

without " obsessing " about weight gain or

loss...maybe just be

concious rather than obsessed, and as I read the

posts about all the

steps everyone takes to return to normal

health...taking small doses

of armour all day, eating mini meals...I was

wondering how I would

handle all of it...right now I find I cannot take

morning breaks, so

stopping to eat is out of the question, I might be

able to sneak a

snack once I am out of training...but the bulk of

my work will be in

the morning, and not taking lunch til at least 1

o'clock and not

leave me much time for anything else...I think it

will get better

once I am back to one job again after the first of

the year and back

to working out...I am wondering how the rest of

you feel about this...

I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one out there who needs to do this. I guess I just don't feel quite so abnormal, or cheated in feeling *everyone else* gets to eat normally.

I do hate this though.... getting off the treadmill in the morning, being REALLY hungry... and not being able to eat breakfast, until I also figure what my dinner and lunch will be, to make sure I'm balanced in my proteins, carbs, etc.... Sometimes I just don't want to figure that out. I occasionally do get smart and figure it out for a week at a time... but with 6 kids interrupting me, that seems like a monumental task!

Yes, it can be a job within itself. I take snacks to work with me. If I

don't I will be eating the wrong ones from the machines. Once I pack it, I

don't really think about it, as all I know is that I must constantly eat a

little bit at a time. I work a nursing floor, so sometimes that can be

challenging, but this is the way that I MUST do it, as well as my multi

dosing of thyroid. My co workers think it's a little funny. Guess what, I

don't really care what they think because they're not walking in my shoes.

If it no longer fits into the plan, then I'll have to find another job. My

health is more important because, without it, I have nothing and won't be

able to continue to work. The U.S. is suicidal when it comes to our lousy

lifestyles. I just posted something about this on our Tx site. I will no

longer conform, as I want to enjoy living, not just get through it all.

... I don't mean to be a poop here... but, if you can.... start planning your meals ahead... the best time for us to eat is first thing in the morning.... the longer you delay that the harder the stress to your adrenals and your metabolism......

Even something as simple as a hot dog or piece of fruit... anything to get something into your system to keep your metabolic rate up.... to make that effort of the treadmill a positive weight control effort and not a concern for your body, causing it to drop metabolism for lack of food....

Ponder on it... see what ideas you can come up....

My own personal schedule is the set up my meals during the day to last at least 24 hours... so my next day's first meal is always there and waiting... I wake, I pop my first dose of thyroid and my adrenal dose under my tongue and as soon as those are dissolved.... I wolf down my first meal.....

Oh, I know.... the weeks I eat best are those I plan out each meal and snack for the whole week. But, it takes forever, because of course I want to think of something good to eat, that's healthy, for which I have ingrediants, etc... so I fall out of the habit. But, it's time to do it again!
