Hi, Topper, , , Gossimer and everyone else!

A while back Topper talked about freezing her mini meals and using

silicone pans/bakeware to easily pop them out and bag.

I receive Aldi circulars via email every week and NEXT week beginning

Monday they are going to have silicone bakeware for sale. I remember

some peeps could not find it. They have a lot of other great deals,

too. Go to Aldi.com and click on your country.

I got pissed off last week at my local grocery store. I only use olive

and corn oil for cooking etc.. I wanted to buy a bottle of Mazola

oil--the pure corn oil and all they had were bottles of " vegetable " of

which all were soy and canola, and a corn and canola blend, both oils

which I will not use for health reasons.

Soy is bad for peeps with thyroid problems and canola is NOT good oil,

it was originally manufactured and sold as machine oil. I've done

reading on it and will not use it. Period.

Some interesting reading--

I live in upstate New York and it is in the 20's outside and it snowed

last night!

I think this is going to be a doozy of a winter! I heat with wood and

it's hell to get up in a 40 to 50 degree house to build a fire in the

stove! I embraced this lifestyle in my 30's, not being dependant on

fossil fuels and at the mercy of the suppliers. At 48 with arthritis

and other health problems I don't think I can do this much longer. My

daughter has been bringing in my firewood lately to help me, thank God.

Hope everyone has a great day--stay warm!!!

Doreen :)

Thanks Doreen.... Great post for those that are cost conscious and trying to come up with better ways, easier ways, of making regular meals easy....

I was just on the Aldi site over the weekend.. didn't see the bakeware sale... but it's good that you posted.. some things aren't at every store... did you know that Aldi is all over the world??

The Aldi link for the US is www.aldifoods.com I don't know the ones for the other countries.. but you can find them off the main link...

I'm heading to Aldi this evening.. stocking up on the groceries that I need for the next month... It's flat out my most favorite store!

Oh gosh... I know what you mean about watching ingredients and how they are pulling the healthy stuff off the market and substituting with the bad... Geez... yesterday I saw the ad for that Splenda blend product.. they are pushing hard to sell that stuff.... I wonder how many folks know that Splenda is chemically altered sugar and that at it's altered state it's only one molecule away from being PLASTIC!

oh well... enough of that .. I have food to finish processing.. a bunch of mini turkey burgers, pan gravy and rice... all being set up for mini meals.
