Listen to a Y-ME Webcast on Survivorship

Year by year, more women are surviving breast cancer longer due to better early detection and treatment. At Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization's Fourth Annual Breast Cancer Forum, Dr. Larry Norton, one of the world's foremost breast cancer experts, spoke about the latest research developments that will prolong survivorship and increase quality of life even more. Also joining the forum was Dr. Rosenbloom of ton Northwestern Healthcare's Center on Outcomes, Research and Education (CORE), who discussed how cancer diagnosis and treatment affect emotional health and life goals.

Survivor Survey

Hello, survivors! Participate in a two month pilot study and help Cancer and Leukemia Group B (CALGB) compile information that will be used to plan future clinical trials. Please take a few brief moments to fill out this survey. You can make a difference!

CALGB is one of 10 national clinical trial groups and Y-ME is represented as a patient advocate on several of its committees.

The International Myeloma Foundation published an advisory to alert the myeloma community about a serious problem that is affecting some people who have myeloma, breast and other cancers-osteonecrosis of the jaw. Although there is no conclusive evidence linking bisphosphonate therapy to this problem, language addressing this possibility has recently been added to the FDA-approved labeling for Aredia and Zometa. We are undertaking a survey targeting myeloma and breast cancer patients/survivors to better understand the problem and how to deal with it.

Please help us by completing this web-based survey. Your input is helpful regardless of whether you have been treated with bisphosphonates or have been diagnosed with osteonecrosis. You can fill out the form for yourself or, if you are a caregiver/family member, on behalf of a patient. All responses are anonymous. No personal identifying information is being gathered.

If you have any questions, call the IMFat in the US or Canada ( elsewhere). Thank you for helping with this important effort!
