Guest guest
Hello, I had my uae Sept. 27. I had it done by Dr. Deitz at the U of M, Minneapolis. My fibroid (intramural/submucosal)measured 8x12x14 prior to the uae, I just had an MRI and it is now 8x9x10.(This is centimeters). I have not noticed any sloughing of tissue or discharge. My abdomen is flatter than it was, I look more normal in clothes, but not like before,I can still feel a hard mass there when I press on it. I couldn't tell for sure that it had shrunk, cause it happened gradually, but now that I have the MRI results, I feel encouraged. I hope that it keeps shrinking. My periods have been regular and still quite heavy. I am hoping that this will improve, too. I guess it takes a while with some people. I spoke to the gyn. about possible myomecomy and she said that I should wait 3 more months and see if there is improvement in the bleeding and shrinkage. The radiologist agreed. One syptom that has gone is the frequency of urination during the night. The gyn said that since I have had embolization done, I would not need to go on Lupron prior to myomectomy (if I have one done). She had previously wanted me to go on lupron for 3 months if I had a myomectomy, but now she said that if I have it done there will be little blood loss. As a note of interest, for a month after uae, I did not feel uterine contractions with orgasm, I was worried, but then the contractions returned, so I was very relieved about that. So now my plan is to eat better and exersize more and do what ever I can to alleiviate the bleeding and get more shrinkage. I took a workshop in shiatsu, which i highly recommend, you can even do it on yourself.Sorry this is so long,
Guest guest
Great email. Thanks for the update. I'll give my 6 month post UAE update next month. I also think about getting a myomectomy because I haven't lost my tummy or gotten enough relief from urination frequency. The longest I can sleep at night before getting up to pee is 6 hours. - Debbie 4 months post uae results so far Hello, I had my uae Sept. 27. I had it done by Dr. Deitz at the U of M, Minneapolis.
