Guest guest Posted February 26, 2002 Report Share Posted February 26, 2002 I just wanted to report on Primtime live last week they had a hidden camera investigation on the money drug companies give to doctors. To make a long story short. They had the undercover camera at a convention in NY city. The doctors and their families were all flown there free, stayed in the Waldorf Astoria free and had parties and received $500. They also were given 7 day cruises, beach trips, ski trips etc. Some of the drug compaines give doctors $2000.00 per patient that they put on a drug and then they call it a clinical trial. Overall the drug companies gave last year over 6 billion dollars to doctors to get them to prescribe their medications. Some doctors interviewed said that they though this did persuade them to prescribe drugs and refused to participate. I would love to ask my doctor how much he took from drug companes last year, but I don't have the nerve. I like him, even though he is a drug pusher and don't want to make him mad.
