Guest guest
I am also genetically predisposed to having high cholesterol. My grandmother was always around 300+ and my mother is almost 500. My grandmother was also hypothyroid, Mom won't have herself checked. _______________________ Hypothyroidism runs in families. All 3 of my sisters and my mother are on thyroid replacement. Could be also that your family is genetically predisposed to hypothyroidism and that is causing the high Choleterol. Does your family have weight problems, heart or cardiovascular disease, cancer and blood sugar problems? This would point toward hypothyroidism at the root. ________________________________ I was diagnose several years ago with insulin resistance. I take metformin 500mg 2x/day now. Doesn't seem to have helped the glucose numebr then, _____________________ You might try Chromium. This is very good for blood sugar control and thyroid function. Also, you could look into Banaba http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/banaba.htm and some alternative doctors have had good luck with high fat diets. Good fats like butter, vergin coconut oil, olive oil, fat meats (organic). I know this sounds outrageous, but it's true http://www.pslgroup.com/dg/10786a.htm Getting thyroid levels right should go a long way to helping this. _____________________ Okay, could this be bad? I know nothing about kidney function other than I haven't seemed to go as often as I should given the amount of water I drink. Although, these tests were done pre Armour and since I started on the Armour this past Saturday, I have had to run go potty more often. ______________ This just means things are slowed down from hypothyroidism. http://www.rnceus.com/lf/lfbili.html Bilirubin Tish
