Guest guest
I've read most of Weston-Price's book " Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, and came across some references to the body " borrowing " certain minerals from the skeleton when the person isn't eating enough high-quality foods in any one day. Anyway, I wondered, therefore what the official Weston-Price take is on fasting. I'm currently doing a reduced kind of Intermittent Fasting, eating only one (full) meal a day within a 2-4(usually 2)-hour period, and having 2-3 fast days a fortnight, which works great for me. This is because I'd heard of one scientific study where mice were fed as much as they wanted on one alternate day, and then forced to fast each 2nd alternate day. These mice had better health than rats put(every day) on caloric restriction diets(c.40% less, and lived much longer than mice fed 3 full meals a day. Since feast-and-famine is more in line with the hunter=gatherer way-of-life, I would have thought WP would have been in favour of it, except that he seems to be against reducing food-intake, according to his book.
