Guest guest
Mine went away with the application of fresh breastmilk. There is a Similasan drop for pink eye; though I think I read somewhere that it contains mercury. You could try looking it up on the EWG's Skin Deep database. Or, if you're feeling daring, you could try some raw milk... ? Good luck. Guest guest
I have a little book called INSTANT VITAMIN AND MINERAL LOCATER and it says eye problems are a lack of vit A and manganese. Might try taking extra of these to prevent this happening. I found on the web a place that says take a pint of water and add a teaspoon of Apple cider vinegar and start putting in the eyes all day. It works they say. You need a washcloth because you are going to constantly do this. Get eye dropper also and put in the eye and roll the eye so it gets the benefit of the water. Here is the web site of this info. http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/viral_conjunctivitis.html Hope this will help you. This folk remedy web site has lots of ideas for home remedies: http://www.health911.com/remedies/rem_indx.htm (add to bookmarks or save to favorites) and in particular for conjunctivitis (pink eye): http://www.health911.com/remedies/rem_conju.htm They include milk, but I like Amy's idea of raw milk better They also include yogurt with active culture as an option. Guest guest
I have also heard that Native Americans used their urine to rinse the infected eye, although I have never tried it:). --------------------------------- Don't pick lemons. Guest guest
My favorite remedy for pink eye is 4 ounces purifed water with 1 teaspoon celtic sea salt. Moisten cotton ball with salt water solution and wipe from inside of eye to the outside. Do not reuse the same cotton ball. Repeat every hour as needed. In addition to this topical treatment, take Congaplex by Standard Process (6 capsules or chewable tablets for the initial dose and then 2 capsules or tablets every hour), X-Factor butter oil (1/2 teaspoon twice daily), and Blue Ice Fermented Cod Liver Oil (2 capsules twice daily). For children use ½ this dosage. Avoid all sugars including fruit juices. Kim Schuette, CN
Guest guest
There is also an herb called eyebright, and infusion of which can be used as an eye wash for a myriad of eye conditions. It can also be taken internally. As for mercury in the homeopathic preparation, the homeopathic preparation is said to contain only the energy signature of the substance, not the substance itself. Guest guest
Similasan drops are very effective and very safe. The mercury in a homeopathic dilution, with no discernible trace of the original mercury molecules (this is why allopaths have such a hard time with homeopathy--they can't see any reason as to why it should work). We have used every type of drop they carry with our brood of kids (five at home now) and had great results. For whatever it's worth . . . e
