Guest guest
To group: Has any PT ever used CPT code 99071: educational supplies, such as books, tapes, and pamphlets, provided by the physician for the pt's education at cost to physician and received pymt on it? It states that this code is used by the " reporting physician or other qualified healthcare professional. " However, CPT does go on to say that these services are an adjunct to the basic services rendered, which sounds like it is included with your PT treatment? Your thoughts would be appreciated. , CPC-PTA Billing Administrator lin Physical Therapy, LLC --------------------------------- Yahoo! Shopping Find Great Deals on Holiday Gifts at Yahoo! Guest guest
; What are you more interested in; whether any PT has been reimbursed for this code, or whether PTs are eligible for reimbursement? Also, from whom are you seeking reimbursement? The answers are to these questions are, by no means, the same. Guest guest
Ric: Respectfully, I think you may have missed my points. It is entirely possible for a provider to be reimbursed for a code, despite the fact that they are not entitled to that reimbursement. It is important for us to know what reimbursement we are entitled to, so that we know when to fight for it, and when to hand it back. If we don't know, or don't care, we may expend a lot of resources fighting losing battles, or battles that we should avoid in the first place. Or, to put it less delicately; some people may be more interested in what they can get away with than what they should do. In addition, reimbursement rules can, and do, vary by payer. Do you see what I am saying? Sincerely, Ken Mailly, PT Mailly & Inglett Consulting, LLC Tel. 973 692-0033 Fax 973 633-9557 68 Seneca Trail Wayne, NJ, 07470 www.NJPTAid.biz Bridging the Gap! She didn't specify whom she was seeking reimbursement from, rather if anyone had used it and been paid for it!
