Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I know that there are a lot of knowledgeable folks on this list so am throwing this out as I am desperate. For the last 2-3 years I have had recurring bouts of fatigue which are getting worse. Neither a conventional doc nor a holistic doc have been able to get to the bottom of it and so I am thinking of going to a Chinese herbalist/acupuncturist. In Feb 2001 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, had a lumpectomy, chemo and radiation. Tamoxifen and then Femara were started but I had a lot of nausea and vomiting from so stopped. I then started a 6 month course of Iscador. Last year I was tested for sleep apnea and now sleep with a CPAP device. A few months ago my ALT (liver function test) was sl elevated. I had a liver ultrasound -> fatty liver. Last year my TSH was 3.0 and Free T4 (Analog) was 0.9 (range 0.8 - 1.7) T3 237 (range: 230-420), Vit D (25-OH) was 38. B12 was 1035 (>200 considered good). My calcium had been sl high but the last one was 10.2 (8.5-10.3). The parathyroid hormone had also been a little elevated. The diabetes test (HgBA1c) was 5.6%. My morning blood sugars are 98-102. Both of my doctors are okay with these levels. I did a urine " iodine challenge test " and the levels were close enough to normal. I was asked to take an iodine supplement for just a couple of months. One thing I have noticed - my normal temperature range is 97.3 - 98.4. I can pretty much guarantee that my temp is 98.8 - 99.4 when these bouts of fatigue come on. I am tired most of the time but every one or two days I get very, very fatigued. I am taking Cod Liver Oil, kefir from raw milk, kombucha, pastured eggs and chickens. Grass fed and finished beef. In other words a mostly NT diet. Have also joined the local chapter of the WAPF. Supplements are D-ribose, CoQ10, hawthorn (for high BP), etc And, of yes, I am 63 years old. Any ideas/suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks, Lynda
