Guest guest
Need some input on this. Made appt with new medical oncologist after he was recommended by radiation oncologist. This was 3 weeks ago. Woman who took intake info from me not only did not know how to spell " ductal carcinoma " but did not know what part of the body DCIS referred to. This bothered me a little. Since I am now back to work, wanted to coordinate follow-up radiation oncologist visit with med. oncologist first time visit, so had to call back and change appt. She said she was mailing out patient packet THAT DAY to complete and bring in at visit. That was three weeks ago. TODAY I got the packet. With it was a card with the appt time--the original day and time, not the time I changed it to!! This scares me more than a little. Does a really competent doctor have such a staff--that does not know categories of cancer and is not on top of appointments??? Should I keep this appt just because the other oncologist recommended him? I must add that my cancer counselor commented that some of her patients felt he was a good oncologist but did not listen much to them, nor very patient about trying different meds. Sorry this is so long--this is really bothering me! Carol
