Guest guest
Mercury thermometers were pulled off that market.. they are getting REALLY hard to find... I've heard that the basals used for ovulation prediction are accurate enough for what we need... That's the kind I have. The indicator for low battery isn't on, but it's just so inaccurate. Maybe I'll try replacing the battery anyways. For the breathing.... It's supposed to do a LOT of good to lay on your back and put your hands on your stomach so that you can feel it I figure it can't hurt...... I know I feel better... more 'awake' like when you're out in fresh air or something.. hard to describe..... I'm with you.. it certainly won't hurt will it! Bandaging helps a lot too... I know she has some sort of bandages from PT she uses. She has problems with her entire body. Your sister might want to join the LLLymphedema group.. those guys are great over there... they helped me a LOT!!!! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LLLymphedema2 I appreciate that, and I will definitely tell her to check it out. Guest guest
Ø Hi , > Did anyone ask you about any adrenal tests or have you had any? >I had one a.m. cortisol test done. I was barely in range, but the Dr. said it was normal. I've been self treated with isocort for about 5 weeks now..... taking 5 tablets first thing in the morning. I'm sleeping better at night, than when I took half my dose at bedtime. ØGreat, I am glad to hear that you are treating your Adrenal glands to a rest. And a chance to heal. >This was a full term pregnancy.. pregnancy #7, live baby #6. She was 9 lbs. My last 2 babies have been around 9 lbs.. the others were bigger. I think my diet has been much healthier which has given smaller babies. ØSomeone else may need to reply to this…I seem to remember that recently, in the last 20 years or so, there has been discussions on being a bit hypo and having large babies…I don't remember what lb wise, they were calling large babies, weight wise. >I can't get anyone to test it. They just do regular hemo/hemat testing, which is fine. ØJust to be on the safe side I take a Slow FE release Iron supplement twice a week. I was surprised that this little tablet could help me feel that little bit better, even though, like you, my levels tested out " within normal range " … my thoughts on this are: What may be normal for one person may not be normal for another…I don't over do my iron supplements, I just take a little more than some and definitely less than others. >Until I ran out recently, I've continued taking a high dose vitamin. >Yep, minerals too. ØGreat, Keep up with the supplementation. Some of us have to use mega dose vitamins due to the way that our bodies handle what is given to it. Also, remember, during the healing period, your body needs extra vits and minerals to help build strong tissue. >Yep, I forgot to add that. I'm on 1/2 g of Armour for 5 weeks now. Dr. is wanting to increase only to 3/4 of a grain. ØGo ahead and take the ¼ grain increase. It is easier on your body to increase slowly, wait for 3 to 6 weeks to allow for a slow and steady build up of the storage T4 and then increase again ¼ grain again. Slow and steady is the game here. Remember the Tortoise and the Hare tale? The Hare won by going slowly and steadily. The Tortoise burned out before he got to the finish line. >I've been shedding heavily since I gave birth. At times, close to 150 a day. Recently it's settled to around 30-50 hairs a day, which I know is technically normal.... but not when you only have half the hair you did! It's not dry or brittle. I lost lots of hair all over. But my temples and sides are very thin. If I pull my hair back, you can see the missing hair, and how thin and sparse it is there. I'm also losing hair in a quarter sized spot right behind my hairline though it isn't totally gone. And it looks very thin on top. > Have you lost or gained more hair in other places? My eyebrows almost disapeared after I gave birth. Even the endo remarked on that. Yet, still claimed I was adequately replaced. Just recently, after being on Armour, the inner part of my eyebrows is more noticeable and filling out.... the outer edges are still sparse, but coming back I think. My leg hair is patchy.. there are some spots that stay smooth.. that started during my last pregnancy. It doesn't grow back really fast. Armpit hair same way.... I have some, but not like I used to. I've had some dark, coarse hair on my lower abdomen and inner thighs since high school, when I was MUCH thinner and supposedly healthy. I've also sprouted more chin hair in the last couple of years, some of it becoming terminal, thick hairs... ØYep, having unusual hair loss are general signs of thyroid imbalance. Once you begin to reach an optimum balance with your adrenal support AND your Thyroid replacement, I wouldn't be at all surprised if most if not all of your hair comes back in…It may change its texture a bit. Mine came back in wavy, and darker. Topper has mentioned her hair loss and now regrowth...I'll let her tell you how she has been teased about this. >I've improved on facial acne.. my skin still isn't great though. Slight rosacea, and just not smooth fine skin. I do have an oily T zone, though less oily than before. My hands tend to get really dry, but they're in water so much. Øhummmm, The lower abdominal hair and the chin hair….hummmmmm, have you by any chance looked into possible insulin resistance or possibly PCOS… the body facial hair is one symptom and facial acne is another symptom…there are many other symptoms, however, this does seem to show up after pregnancies and low Thyroid function… I don't mean to be an alarmist, I am just drawing at straws for possibilities. ØYep, my hands are dry and cracking but then I live in the desert and hand wash dishes every evening…and I can't stand the smell of bag balm, even though this stuff does help the cracking a great deal… I keep trying out products to solve this cracking…my next trial will be with coconut butter/oil…at least this smells great, reminds me of spending summers at the beach… >When I look, there are subtle lines running from cuticle to ends.. ØRidges in the nails are often indications of problems within the body. The ridges running from cuticle to tip are often associated with Thyroid imbalances. And ridges running from side to side may indicate a drastic change in the diet…ie. Going from a low carb diet to a high carb diet. ØWeird body odors may indicate a fungal infection or a need to increase the amount of fluid -WATER- taken in every day, or a kidney that needs help or …… You are most welcome…All these are just a laymens gathering of information and I am in no way a Doctor. I just keep my eyes open and keep learning about the human body. I tend to lean towards holistic healing if possible. IMHO Gossimer
