Guest guest
I am performing benchmarking of activity levels and staffing needs for an acute rehab department that services a 220 bed hospital in Central Oregon. What I'm looking for are appropriate metrics that are widely used and comparable between facilities in order to determine the " correct " amount of therapy that should be delivered and the appropriate amount of staff required to do so effectively. Some of the specific questions I have are: (1)Are we providing the optimal amount of therapy to our patients? This question can also be broken down into the optimal amount of PT versus OT delivered based on diagnosis or patient type. (2)Are we utilizing our staff efficiently and effectively to achieve this " optimal " level of therapy? (3)Are we keeping our patients " on service " for an appropriate length of time? If anyone has information regarding these specific questions, or has information regarding the " traditional " benchmarks used to compare services between facilities I would much appreciate this information. Thanks, Tannus Quatre, PT Team Leader, Acute Rehab Services St. Medical Center Bend, OR 97701 x6141 tquatre@...
