Guest guest
I saw the same episode... what are the ingredients? I know for me the combo of vitamin C and peppermint tea has always done wonders.... for a while I got into Eachinacea (sp?) and, to be honest, I don't know if it added to my norm or not... I do know that supporting the body when it's fighting a sick makes the sick go away quicker. Most meds today are only symptom suppressors, they don't help your body fight the sick. I hate losing a week to the flu.)

Guest guest
Herbs are good, but the only thing about the immune system improvers, like Echinacea, for instance, is that they mobilize the T helpers, which, in Hashi's, are defectively recognizing almost anything that comes along, specific things, all of which we don't necessarily know, as an invader that needs to be eliminated. That's the delemma with Hashi's, when it comes to iodine, and many other ordinary things that our bodies really aren't supposed to go without. This is why I get that "funny look on my face", you might say, when someone says that our immune systems need to be mobilized. Hashi's people have a VERY mobilized T cell system. The trouble with the system is that the substance that helps them to recognize "self" substances simply is either nonexistent or is defective. It's the thing that helps the body to distinguish between an actual antigen, or allergic substance unique to that person, and something that belongs there. That's why our thyroids are destroyed, because of an error in a very GOOD immune system. I won't take Echinacea ever again, because I had a reaction to it in my eyes and respiratory system, sort of like a pollen reaction. Way later, I discovered that it is in the Ragweed family, and I laughed, saying, No Wonder! It's just one example. I have taken other herbs, that I forget to take most of the time, BTW, that are probably very good, I just forget to take them.
