Is it possible if a neice would be hypothyroid and their mother wasn't?

Yes, remember that site I was telling you about that also has pictures of removed thyroids, so that people can have a good idea of what different thyroid conditions look like in a person? Well, it also has a very long technical list of which diseases are affected by which chromosomes. It is a very long list and involves the chromosomes for Hashi's, Grave's, then the one that you have with the TSH defect, and many many others, including some of the variants of Hashi's, can't remember the names of those. I believe it's in our links section on the Texas site. I think Jan just recently put it there. I think I saved that link, but as the title of an article isn't always connected with what it's really about, don't know whether I can find it quickly. Me and two of my daughters all have Hashi's, as did my maternal grandmother, which, of course, that's an educated guess, but these links aren't, it's right there in black and white. Whether the diseases themselves are ever brought forth in a person's life is another question, due to many influencing factors, but the genetic links are already there sitting on the chromosomes.
