We're Back From Atlanta!

Hi Everyone,

Eddie and I got home from Atlanta about 6:30 pm. The session at Emory lasted from 11:00 am until 4:00 p.m. I learned so much today about the team of doctors and nurses, etc. that make up the ILD Clinic at Emory. I feel that I am in good hands. I met some awesome people, too that either had IPF or they were with relatives that had it. People came from all over the Southeast, not just Georgia. We exchanged addresses, emails, etc. We sat at round tables all day with the same people. During the break for lunch while waiting for the buffet line to go down, I chatted with MY DOCTOR, Dr. . He told me that I looked as if I had lost weight! I thought it was just awesome to go and visit all of these people at Emory in a casual atmosphere and chit-chat.

Tamra, the nurse in charge of the ILD Clinic, told me that I was on the list for the sildenafil trial which is starting November 6th. I love talking to Tamra and I told her to call me soon, I was waiting.........

& Lynley were also on the program but only attended because Lynley was sick. showed me the book of letters again. He was sure it had been redone and had our letters in it. But I only saw Joyce and Maddie's letters. Maybe we could all do this again and make our own book. is going to have all of those letters posted on the Emory website.

There were two pulmonary doctors, Dr. & Dr. Roman, another pulmonary dr. that does all the procedures, pathologist, radiologist and lots of power point presentations. Teamwork was emphasized by this group. Liquid oxygen was available for refills if needed. I also saw an oximeter for $180.00. The brand of it was Digit. (how ironic)

Eddie wore his t-shirt and was a walking billboard for our group.

My Helios Marathon lasted from 8:30 am until 7:30 pm. I certainly loved having such a long lasting tank.

Hope everyone had a good Saturday. Tomorrow I have to get up and be at church to practice with the rest of the bell group since we are playing tomorrow. Eddie has to work at his second job tomorrow since he went with me today.
