Guest guest
OH ROSEMARY !!!! I've tried so hard NOT to answer your question !!! I lack self restraint BIG TIME. a. Yes I can stop my watch, it has a STOP WATCH FUNCTION b. Yes I have had 3 severe shocks. they are now aged 13 11 & 7 Make the voices stop now please ! He talks about when he and my mother were first married that they had difficulty getting near each other because of the amount of electricity he seemed to generate. As he got older he found that if he put a leather band underneath the wrist watch he was able to wear one. Joyce

Guest guest
Then I wondered about whether there was any evidence of nf2ers exhibiting more voltage.....some people do, I am one of them. HUH????? I am way lost can you explain this in one/two sylable words, why would your watch stop, i don't het what youre asking/suggesting, Im sorry Caren - wonders oif 2 nf2ers, with "high voltage?" are intimate will it cause a firework show of sparks???? Guest guest
Are you guys serious?? The MRI is capable of building up a strong enough electromagnetic field within someone that it is strong enough to "charge" them and possible stop and start a watch? Am I understanding this correctly? Personally, I have frequent the MRI so often in the past 15 years that I think I should be able to set off metal detectors if this is true, but yet, I don't have this effect on watches. Darn! :0) Does this build-up of K+ (what is that? I'll guess, but could that that mean ion or potassium? Did I get close? ever dissipate and vanish from the body, over a period of dormant MRI activity?? Greg My friend stops watches she csan't wear them at all. Never had a MRI. You guys are just off. Sara Does anybody else stop watches? And then start them again? I mean just by wearing them. Also, lots of electric shocks. Latest watch has just been taken in again for repair, and watchmaker just shakes his head at me.
Guest guest
Believe it or not I stop watches also. I go through several in a year. I am non NF2 and neve had an MRI. I get the most fantastic shocks just by crossing a room. Gets so you are afraid to touch anything. It gets better in the summer, though.. Sue L Rosemary Lee wrote: > > Does anybody else stop watches? Guest guest
No, No, no, No. This thread is going of the rails. I am not suggesting that mri's charge you, neither am I suggesting that having mri's charges you so that you stop watches... I stop watches, and, yes even again since I started this post, with my new battery. (Thank you for the leather tip). I don't have nf2 and I don't have mri's (except once). Now, nf2 schwann cells exhibit stronger outward current than normal schwann cells. I wondered about effects of multiple, ongoing mri's, more in terms of realignment, not charging. This is magnetic radiation(mri's) not electro-magnetic radiation.(I think I'm right)End of story about mri's. Then I wondered about whether there was any evidence of nf2ers exhibiting more voltage.....some people do, I am one of them. So two different lines of enquiry, not to be confused.... rosemary on 1/2/01 9:10 AM, Greg at GREGIERY@... wrote: > Are you guys serious?? Which people? the fact that some do stop watches and some don't and that some people get more shocks tells us that it is not a uniform experience. If I walk around a supermarket with you, I'll guarantee that I will get more shocks. Even under the same weather conditions and contact with the same surfaces. Sorry, just the way it is... I have idea what schwann cells emit..probably zip, in the scheme of things. And it probably wouldn't even end up in any shape, manner or form as static electricity.Or maybe it does contribute to the overall. I dunno, as one doc said on Monday, you need an electrical engineering degree here. But I do know that nf2 schwann cells produce a greater outward K+current (potassium conductance ) than normal schwann cells. That is the mechanism of quinidine. Blocking this current. So hence the very silly question.
