Guest guest
Helon and Jackie, I'm in the same boat as far as babysitting. I take care of my recently turned 5 year old granddaughter during the day and pick up her older sister from school in the afternoon three times a week. I have a blast with them, but sometimes that old arthritis sure makes it hard getting around, up, down or any direction! I agree with you Jackie, in that we are strong since we are from the " old bunch " . I have a special place to pick up the older one after school, but the powers that be have been busy during Christmas vacation constructing some new stuff. They messed up the spot where I usually park to get her. It took an extra 10-15 minutes for us to find each other today. One of the teachers saw me waiting for her and had her paged to the office. I didn't ask them to page her, they just did. My granddaughter was surprised to be paged and then when she got there nobody knew why she had been paged! Oh well, after awhile we found each other. I told her never to worry, that I'd never forget to pick her up no matter what. And I told her (in my very best law-enforcement officer voice) never to worry if she didn't see me right away...that " I'd track her down to the ends of the earth no matter *where* she was! " . My daughter laughed at that and told her that was true and told how her how good a " tracker " I was. She told her that even if she didn't want to be found " Grandma will find you, no matter what! " So, you see, I *earned* the title " Commando Grandma " long before I met you guys. Well, actually I've a few other titles, but that one is as good as any!
