Congrats!!!!!! suggestion for you...has your doc ever tried you on Lipator for the tris? It's what my Husband takes and when he keeps his bg down it works so well they actually had to lower his dose at one point because his cholesterol was getting too low. His tri's were good....but those were the days ;-( We're waiting on results right now...had his BW done on Tuesday...and prior to starting low carbing this week his bg was pretty bad so I expect his tris to be off the charts as normal. Hopefully those days are over. Anyhow...if you've never tried it I would suggest you consider Lipator. Guest guest
<<has your doc ever tried you on Lipator for the tris?>> Yes I took this for about 2 years and it never came down. One time it was 1500. I also had terrible side effects, but I am so wierd. I know most people take it and have no problems. He said Tricor today. So I am going to try it. I will let you know what happens. Phyllis

Mine have been in the 300 - 400's for most of my adult life. Once when I was in the hospital after being diagnosed T2, They went up close to 1000. Curiously that was when I was on a glucose drip. I asked the Docs and Nurses about it, but they all claimed ignorance. I tell ya, sometimes the only time you can trust them docs to be telling the truth is when they claim ignorance! ;o) Rick
Guest guest
Irene, they did do the Free T4(named Free Thyroxine Index) and your result there is in the lower range. Quite a few feel better with the Free T4 at least in the upper half of the range, if not higher and the Free T3 in the upper quandrant.TSH is still high, especially if you started meds 6 weeks ago. (T4 levels take at least six weeks to really show, T3 is fast acting, like hours...) Hugs Feisty Lab Results > > First off, I'm ticked. Guest guest
Oh, thank you, ! I just picked up the Rx for .05 Levoxyl. Will start taking tomorrow with a follow up next week. I know it can take a long time to get this regulated. I'm trying to have a baby, which is hard enough on it's own without adding Hashimoto's to the mix. In your opinion, do you think I'm at the beginning, middle or end stages of Hashi's and going hypo? Is there any way to tell that? Thanks, Irene > Irene, they did do the Free T4(named Free Thyroxine Index) and your result > there is in the lower range. Guest guest
I had written a few days ago about my TSH. But I went with hubby to his appointment and the doc willingly gave me a copy of my bloodwork. Well, the nurse was going to just let me see it and he said no copy it and give one to her. Well he did all the labs that I requested except for the free T3. grrrr oh well. Here are the results that pertain to thyroid. TSH 6.40 (the range is still listed as .465-4.680 but we all know that above a 2 is not good.) Free T4 .87 (range .79- 2.35) So I am hypo and since he doesn't know the conversion of Armour he only put me on the lowest dose. But I will have bloodwork in 4 weeks. He only wants my TSH to get under a 5. Uh hello! I don't think so. lol I think that I am going to look for an endo this time. Guest guest
I think you do need to find someone else... a doc who's goal is only to get TSH below 5, which is no longer 'in range' even, not to mention that the latest tests show that most folks feel best at 1.25, or below... .....well... you need someone that knows what they're doing, it's time you felt better. IMHO, of course. Topper ()www.thyrophoenix.com On Tue, 28 Sep 2004 16:33:54 -0400 "melissa" writes: I had written a few days ago about my TSH. Guest guest
An endo will be much worse a Nazi than this doc is, believe me, for the most part. You are VERY VERY hypo, and as low as your T4 is, I'm surprised the TSH isn't higher. Mine was a 35 with a T4 that low, so I'm going to stick my neck out and say that you have antibody problems too, with them blocking at where your TSH receptors are and many other places, to boot. You need antibodies testing, along with the Free T3. I can't immagine what that will be, but you need to get with a doctor's list of those who know how to treat thyroid disease, NOT necessarily an endo. Most endos will not prescribe Armour for you and they will keep you treated with lab ranges only, no matter how you feel. Lab results I had written a few days ago about my TSH. But I went with hubby to his appointment and the doc willingly gave me a copy of my bloodwork. Well, the nurse was going to just let me see it and he said no copy it and give one to her.
