Guest guest
Sorry you didn't get an answer...sometimes when that happens it's because everyone thinks someone else is going to answer the question...and I can't answer it because I don't drink any kind of sodas at all. I do drink two quarts of filtered water a day though. Vicki << Question: This is my favorite drink and since it says on the can that it has no carbs I assume that it is alright to have. Am I correct on this? I really would appreciate it if someone would chime in and give me an answer to this question. I know that it isn't as important as some questions posted here but I sure would appreciate a response. This is the second time I've asked for a helpful response on this. Thank you! >>

I have a brother-in-law who swears that the nutrisweet gave him horrible headaches. I'm not sure how he determined it was that versus something else, but that is one of those YMMV (your mileage may very) issues. What is a problem for one person is well tolerated by another. I for one am allergic to raw onions. If i eat even small amounts of them, I get extremely hyper - like I had washed down several " diet " pills with 5 or 6 pots of strong black coffee. Not a pretty site. My kids are always watching out for me when we eat out as they don't like to see me turn into " Mr. Hyde. " (I wonder why..?). I do drink a lot of regular water during a day also, as I have heard that you should " cover " the carbonated water intake by at least the same amount of non-carbonated water to avoid dehydration. Thank you! > Ron Standart Ron, I recently found the Coke w/Lemon in our area, and really like it also. As far as " can you have it, " the general answer would be yes. Anything with zero carbs per serving is generally OK for most of us diabetics. I have heard some reports of increasing bg's when drinking these products, but very few. There are some other medical issues with some of the sweeteners (I am thinking of Nutrasweet-Aspertame right now), but they are not related to diabetes. Some of the " non-sugar " sweeteners do have fillers in them that do contain carbs, but I don't think that applies when used in drinks. For the definitive answer for " you " , I would suggest you drink the Coke (only), and then test your bg's at say 1/2, 1, and 2 hrs. This can be one of those YMMV things, so testing on yourself is the only way to get the sure answer. , T2 Oregon

Fran Morning Fran, I was just telling Robbie the other day that I wish they made diet ginger ale. Where have you found it? We've been drinking mostly diet rite since I've always liked it and now that they sweeten it with splenda Robbie doesn't mind it either. If it's in the Wal-mart stores maybe we can find it in our area. Thanks,
