Guest guest
Carla, Thank you for the informative, thorough research! I had a feeling that this herbal remedy is too good to be true, but I felt I should ask anyway. You see, I am one of those women who are desparately trying to avoid surgery. However, I do realize that myo/uae are out there for a reason. From my own recent research, I found out that Hys is the number 1 treatment for fibroids in China. So, if U-O-Clear is so great, why don't more Chinese use it?
Guest guest
You said that hys. is the no. 1 treatment for fibroids in China. Do you have a reference for this? I too am trying to avoid surgery and am considering going to an MD (female and experienced) who uses Chinese medicine and once weekly acupuncture. Of course I will have to pay for all of this. That's why I wanted a reference for me to take to her as I ask questions about the effectiveness of this approach. Thanks. " I haven't done any research on that subject, but there is a bit of relevant information I've come across in my readings. Although I gather acupuncture is widely accepted in China, I don't know how great a division there is generally between the practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine and of modern " Western " medicine. It may be that the statistics you have found only cover the modern medical system. TCM practitioners say (a number of sources) that they have herbal treatments which are effective for SMALL fibroids only. The size limit usually given as about 3.5 cm. I read one message from a woman who was told by a Chinese TCM doctor that " In China we don't allow fibroids to get this large. " So what of the women whose fibroids did get large, the ones who had hysterectomies - did they not get appropriate herbal treatment - or was treatment unsuccessful - or were their fibroids too large by the time they knew they had them? (I had a grapefruit sized tumour and others before I knew anything was wrong with me) China is the only other country besides the US in which I heard of research into Mifepristone for shrinking fibroids. In fact, I think it was the first country to have trials of the drug as a fibroid treatment (?). (More evidence that the Chinese don't rely on TCM) I went to a Chinese herbalist when my fibroids were first discovered. He didn't know what fibroids were. He told me I had a benign tumour. I told him it was in my uterus. He still wasn't very clear on the subject and said he would have to check with his tutor in a neighbouring town. Then I went to a member of the (UK-based) National Institute of Medical Herbalists. He did know what fibroids were, claimed to have successfully treated a couple of women but warned me that my large fibroids were probably too well established and thriving to be much affected by the herbs. I believe the herbs I received were similar to those a Chinese herbalist would prescribe and they did include a few that are on the U-O-Clear list. I lost quite a bit of weight, felt healthy, stopped having extra days of spotting beyond a normal 5 day menstrual period. But my fibroids continued to grow over the following months. I have spoken on the phone with one woman who says she got very good results from treatment with a Chinese herbalist in London. Our fibroid and other characteristics vary. I had some herbs that would not be suitable for a woman who unlike me had very heavy, crampy menstrual periods. Whatever type of medication you get, the prescription needs to be adjusted to suit you personally, so these all-in-one bottle mail order elixirs are unlikely to be of benefit.
