Guest guest
Hello Sheila, S> I don't wear jewelry and often wandered if there was any connection S> between wearing gold or silver on your body and certain health S> problems. i can only wear real gold or silver -anything else causes a rash a friend gave me a garnet necklace and some amber earrings to wear as it was supposed to help with thryoid healing but they all broke on the same day which i took to mean that they were now not the right thing for me to wear. Another friend suggested lapis lazuli as a thyroid healing stone but i haven't bought any yet -- Best regards, Alison http://www.alisonashwell.com mailto:alison.ashwell@... new work uploaded http://www.artwanted.com/alisonashwell
Guest guest
If you think that's a strange question then you are going to love my answer As far as gold, silver, etc...I have not heard a lot on it's reactions based on medical illness. I know silver tends to turn on some people and not others. Probably depends on the amount of a certain chemical in your body. Now what I can help with is jewelry in general. Not sure how many on the list believe in " New Age " remedies but here are a few things you can do with jewelry. Colors and stones each have healing properties. For instance, Citrine helps depression and anxiety, amethyst is an all around healing stone, red stones tend to help with blood disorders, and the list goes on. A lot of people have found relief from symptoms of certain disorders by wearing jewelry with the appropriate stone for the type of healing. This might sound corny to some, but this has all been tested for years and years and a lot of these " of wives' tales " have worked for centuries. To take it a step forward it is believed that illness stems from Chakras (energy centers in the body) being out of balance. This is ancient Eastern knowldge so don't laugh yet. Since the thyroid is located at the 5th chakra (the throat chakra)the color to help balance is blue. Blue stones are also VERY healing. Wearing a blue stone around your neck might be worth trying for a while I could go on for days, but I am sure I am boring you all with my Hoodoo. Guest guest
This interests me too, The following is taken from http://www.kacha-stones.com/chakras.htm “Chakras are subtle, dynamic energy vortexes and are as much a part of our bodies as arms or legs. You can't see electricity, but when you turn on the light, you see its effect. The chakras can similarly be understood by their effects. Physical organs and maladies in the area of a chakra can be treated with stones of the colour relating to that chakra. It is not surprising that our subtle energy centres are especially connected to the physical body in their location. A basic example of this would be using green stones like chlorite or peridot to treat heart conditions. Wearing the stone over the heart as a pendant has the advantage of being in the most beneficial area almost continuously. Seventh/Crown: white, violet - Amethyst Sixth/Third Eye: indigo/dark blue - Blue Dumortiertite Fifth/Throat: light blue - Blue Lace Agate Fourth/Heart: green, pink - Rose Quartz Third/Solar Plexus: yellow - Yellow Aventurine Second/Sacral: orange - Carnelian First/Base: red/black - Black Obsidian The constitutional properties of quartz including its ability to be programmed, means it can be used on any or all of the chakras. Programmed means nothing more than the ability of quartz to accept the imprints of the mind, in the same way wet sand accepts the imprints of our feet. This is the nature of quartz - it accepts, stores and transmits information. Native Americans understand quartz crystals to be the " braincells " of Grandmother Earth. One of the reasons for this is because their shaman could perceive the peculiar quality of quartz to interact with the human mind naturally. “ --- topper2@... wrote: > Now that is wild... Guest guest
YES! I always tought I was weird because one day I would just wake up and want a piece of jewelry or have a new favorite color. I had a facination with stones and realized I would go through phases on which ones I liked the most. I would go into a shop and look at all the stones. I would get one that " spoke " to me. Not even the prettiest. When I took it home and researched it I always found it's properties to be something I was going through in my life. When I first started having libido problems I found myself attracted to Carnelian stone. I never even liked the color orange! I bought a ring and then some loose stones. Turns out it helps sexual dysfunction! Too weird to be a coincidence. I don't have all my info at work so I'll have to type up a little something when I get home and have my books and notes in front of me. You know how people say if you crave a food that means your body needs whatever is in it?? I believe the same thing about colors and stones. I have been an amethyst collector for years now....I later learned it is excellent for healing. You are attracted to blue because it makes you feel good or reminds you of calming waters. Same effect as a blue stone. I just painted my apartment red, orange and yellow (it looks great)I needed more energy and I am sure that's why I picked those colors! Deanna > Now that is wild... Guest guest
Guest guest
Yep Yep! I taught a class last Spring about chakras. I'll try to find it on my computer at home and post it in the files section in case anyone is interested. Each chakra also has properties associated with them and you can use the stones and colors to tap into that too. For instance, the throat charka not only represents the thyroid, esophagus, etc...it also represents communication and expression. If you are having problems communicating ideas or just shy in general you can use the same concept and carry or wear a blue stone or even wear a blue scarf in the winter Can you tell I am just a little passionate about this topic?! It is all so facinating! I have a book club meeting tonight, but I will try to post more info and correspondances tonight. Deanna > > > Now that is wild... Guest guest
I have also been thinking more on this question... I am very drawn to blue stones---I have envied my Uncle his lapis lazuli ring.He got it when he taught in Afghanistan 40 years ago or so.I love sapphires too. A lot of people are drawn to diamonds, but I prefer those two and similar .Another thing, I am drawn to the jewel tones in my graphic creations. In fact, someone was telling me that my graphics are always using the bright colors(jewel tones) and that was one way they could tell if it is mine. I, too, would like to explore this further Feisty Re: Re: Question about jewelry Now that is wild... Guest guest
My husband bought me an aquamarine birthstone necklace for my birthday this year. Normally I don't like to wear any jewelry except my wedding ring, but this was an exception. I haven't taken it off since he gave it to me. I have always been drawn to aqua blue tones....
