Guest guest
Florida has a Hurricane Bay near Ft. Myers and a Hurricane Creek in the panhandle near Alabama, but no towns with that name. I think they should re-name one of the towns on the Space Coast....maybe Melbourne or Cocoa Beach! We don't get the actual hurricanes up here...well, we get the part when it comes up this way but has mostly lost its sting but the winds and tornadoes we get are horrible and they sometimes are the offspring of the hurricanes that hit the southern part of our state. You know that was really silly of you to think you could hold down a metal shed in 100 mph winds. I hope you dont ever try that again. Guest guest
Just got the power back on. Jeanne wasn't as bad as Frances...only have ONE tree down this time! It was a tropical storm by the time it got here to Gainesville (north central Florida), so we only had sustained winds of about 50 mph with gusts into the 70's. Have some more roof leaks, too, but even if I have to replace the whole roof it won't be 2 percent of the house's value, so my insurance won't pay anything. They started that after in the 90's ...instead of a set deductible, they base the out of pocket expense on the value of the house, not the amount of the damage. I just hope we've seen the last hurricane for the year! Hugs to all, . dkphillips@... wrote: Too right, Lala! > > From: lalacharley@... > Date: 2004/09/25 Sat PM 05:07:47 EDT > To: breastcancer2 > Subject: Re: Hurricane > > > But we do get Tornados here in Oklahoma! > > The University of Tulsa is called the Golden Hurricane and we get nothing > from hurricanes in the Tulsa area. > > > > > > Date: 2004/09/24 Fri AM 11:15:56 EDT > > To: breastcancer2 > > Subject: Hurricane > > > > > > "We have to do the best we can.
