Guest guest
Mike, In the recent post from the radio interview with Dr. Nickolson and Mazlen they mentioned: >> Also, one interesting thing, because we know that these patients tend to >have >> relapses when there's low oxygen tension like in air travel, for example, I found that interesting because I went into a flare after my last air plane trip. Take care, Ute Mike wrote: >Yes, I have noticed that flying causes an incresae in joint pain to the >point where if ican i avoid flying. >
Guest guest
Has anyone flown lately? My friend was reading me the list of what could be taken on a flight and food was not on there except for processed baby food and I think a liquid sugar treatment for hypoglycemics. I am severely hypoglycemic and was thinking of traveling soon but I won't be able to if this is the case. Can anyone verify or deny?
Guest guest
I think if you are having an obvious problem.. redness or dangerously loose just take it off until you can see the ortho. I think it will be fine. My helmet (hanger) has a metal clip for the velcro. they might make you take the helemt off? I would go a little bit earlier than normal. From: lmichalc <lmichalc@...>Plagiocephaly Sent: Tue, March 8, 2011 3:41:52 AMSubject: Flying Hi, new here! My 7.5 month son is getting his DOC band today. We are flying on Saturday. Has anyone had experience with this? Does security require you to remove the band when going through the detectors? Also, I'm a little worried about our trip..timing wise. Guest guest
Hi , I flew with my son a couple of times with his helmet and they didn't ask him to remove it. I actually think we were treated better at security and with the airplane crew because of it. I brought my boppy pillow so that he could sleep/nurse on my lap and he was fine. If you have any problems, hopefully they will be cleared up before you leave. If not, don't stress too much. Call CT if a problem arises. Good luck! We get the band today, will go for a follow-up on Friday and then won't return until the following Monday (a week and a half). Do you think this is too long between the first follow-ups? > > Thanks! >
Guest guest
I flew several times with our daughter when she had her helmet. The first trip, security asked me to remove it and put it through the xray machine. After that, I just did it every time because I figured they would ask me anyway. It was no big deal, also I think that everyone certainly was extra nice to us which was pleasant. Also passed another DOC band in the airport and another mom who told me both of her sons had one years ago. Guest guest
Hi : We fly to Cranial Tech in Dallas every 2 weeks for our adjustments, we have never had to take the band off but they do pull us to the side and rub a swab on his band, hands and my hands and that's it. Good luck to you and your little one! > > > > Hi, new here! My 7.5 month son is getting his DOC band today. We are flying on Saturday. Has anyone had experience with this?
